A case of learning to trust the devil

Set in California Gold Rush, we encounter a girl, Cory, who would have perfered to die in a hotel fire, than be rescued by the man known as Daddy Diggory a whore house keeper, renowned for his violent ability to overcome all comers.
Cory was surprised at Digby's patience and understanding, as well as the way he treated the women involved in his hotel.
She had been forced into the world of whoring, due to her father's debts, and yet, Diggory was willing to pay her, or allow her to leave.
The story develops, as we learn more about the two main characters, however, if I go further, it may stop your enjoyment of the author's work.
I loved the narrator, who had adapted his voice to an irish brogue, in a way, I found appealing.
The spanking episodes with in the context of the story, were such, that the understanding for discipline, and it's administration, in such a world, where far harsher punishment appears to be the norm, allows an insight into the role of "Daddy", which Diggory had taken upon himself.
I enjoyed this book immensely.

Sizzling Hot!

Renee is one of my favorite authors. This book is my absolute favorite yet. The writing is as exquisite as ever. The words just transport you into the story. The hero, Jake (who doesn't just swoon at the name Jake,) brings chivalry to the wild west in his hot, masculine, and spankocentric way. (Swoon...fanning myself!) Cora starts out a victim; the true picture of vulnerability yet her inner strength builds with each page. Her character development is flawless. This book is filled (to the brim) with scorching HOT spanking (and so much more!) You will have to read it to find out what I'm talking about, but ICARAMBA it's good stuff!

There will be a lot of spanking going on

Jake owns a brothel in a small California town back during the gold rush. When a fire is reported at the only other brothel in town, Jake and the other townsmen rush to contain it so it will not burn down everything in town. Jake sees a woman at a window on an upper floor and ends up having to grab a ladder and go and rescue her. He has always had a thing for Cora because she reminded him of a lost love. When her parents were murdered she ended up having to work off her father's debt at the brothel, and Jake has always thought it a shame that this beautiful, well-brought-up woman ended up in such dire straits.

He offers her whatever job she would like at his establishment. She takes the most obvious one due to wanting to make enough money to finally leave town. She agrees to follow Jake's rules but immediately breaks one by cursing which results in the first of many spankings. Jake does not sleep with his "girls," punishing them is all he has for sexual enjoyment. But he just might have to make an exception in Cora's case, whether he means to or not.

This book is a short erotic read (or listen). I was given a copy of the audiobook by the author and my review is voluntary.

Awesome audiobook

This is a fantastic story, it is well written and well told. I enjoyed her writing style. Elliott Daniels is awesome narrator. Highly recommend listening to this audiobook.

Very Good Story

I really enjoy Renee Rose’s writing style. This was a really good quick listen about Jake and Cora. Jake rescues Cora, who resembles his dead fiancé, from the burning brothel next door. It is unfortunate how she started working there. Jakes take her to his establishment and gives her whatever job she wants except she must follow his rules. Jake protects his girls. Of course, she breaks a rule almost immediately by cursing and receives a spanking. Elliott Daniels did a fair job with the narration. His voice sounded much too old for the characters in this book. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Sexy

I loved it this was Right up my alley I love these books the narration was good the storyline was very original and I love Renee This was definitely a 5 star read in my opinion
