Good If You Can Ignore The Overuse Of Euphemisms

I did enjoy the narrator quite a bit. I do understand the era and language trying to fit the time, but if a book is going to put itself in the category of erotica I think the ridiculous amount of euphemisms, and only apparently used by the female MC, took what could have been a 5 star story down at least 1 star. However I think that's generous. This young lady embraces her sexuality too quickly to avoid using the words her male counterpart uses. I was cringing. The character, Minnie, was adorable and I'd like to see more of her. Though I can't see this submissive ever being strictly with a woman after her training. She's enjoying him too much.

Surprisingly good read and great BDSM erotica

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the series the author did a great job on the characters in the story. Lily the ex-governess, to Lady Montgomery, to Lord Harcourt. it is extremely erotica. I can't wait to finish this series.

A sexy story of erotic discovery.

Lily finds herself in rather desperate circumstances but there is a light at end of the tunnel, however the journey through that tunnel will be an incredibly erotic awakening unlike anything the rather naive Lily could have imagined

Wonderful writing by Devi Ansevi. This is a hotly erotic story of Lily's discovery of sexual awakening and discovery. Excellent character development. The scenes are well set and described allowing the reader to be a voyeur to Lilly's journey.

Rose Lachlan has a wonderful voice for these characters, however I felt her tone and inflection were just a bit sleepy for this story. Her tone and inflection just seemed a bit subdued at times, I would have liked to hear the characters, especially Lily, given a bit more excitement. That being said it was still a wonderful narration.

I highly recommend this book.

A Short Hot and Fun Victorian Novella

Schooled to Obey: Lily's Training (Book 1) - Devi Ansevi

To me, this book felt like a breath of fresh air. It was fun, the story moved fast, and the sex was intense. Even the historical setting was well done. I believed the story from beginning to end.

'Schooled to Obey' dealt with Lily. She is a governess, but the children in the household have grown up and are no longer in need of her care and instruction. Unfortunately, her mother has fallen ill and is in need of full-time care. Her employer Lady Montgomery has a proposal: Lily will have to spend two nights a week fulfilling her Lady's desires, while in return the Lady will make sure Lily's mother receives the care she needs. Lily agrees and is sent away to Lord Harcourt for training. In his training, Lily discovers many things about her own sexuality she had not yet uncovered. He stretches her limits, but never too far.

The descriptions of the sexual acts are very hot. The only scene that was slightly off-putting was the first anal sex scene. That went a tad too fast, but in the story, it didn't matter. It sure turned me on, and that was the point of this novella. I loved the diversity of the characters, I believed the story and I never once got bored.
I loved the narration by Rose Lachlan. She definitely was Lily in my mind. She did a good job narrating the male voices. I give her five stars for how she narrated the servant girl Mollie. She just nailed the accent. I couldn't help but smile at her exclamations.

All in all, 'Schooled to Obey' is a hot short novella that's filled with sex and fun. What else could you wish for? The writing is good, the narration is perfect. The ending of the story was kinda sudden, but it made for a good bridge to the second book in the series. I'm certain I want to read more by Devi Ansevi. Just listen to this book and see why I enjoyed it so much.

Well written and narrated

A well developed story of a governess decent from virgin into sexual servitude at the hands of a strict but caring Sir. Who is training her to become a plaything for her mistress as part of a mutual arrangement. I look forward to the continuations.

Entertaining

This read was an entertainging listen. The author did well in keeping the Victorian feel of the story and creating some steamy sex scenes.

The narration wasn't bad, but had a few hiccups that were a little off-putting to me personally. I believe Ms. Lachlan has the potential to be a great narrator, considering how well she does with voice inflection and role changes, however, her reading seemed inconsistent. There were pauses in places that took away from the smoothness and several background noises that threw me off a bit. Overall, I enjoyed listening though.
