Publisher's summary

Wickedly sexy James Bowen is a bad boy of the highest order - tattoos and attitude included - which unfortunately ranks way up on Tate's not-a-chance-in-hell list, right there along with skydiving naked over Tehran and juggling Ebola vials just for kicks. But what the heck, she's on holiday, the guy is absolutely irresistible, and she needs to unplug from her life. With her dad and brother gone, Tate is left to deal with the family restaurant, which is fast going down the drain. Her employees are acting up, her boyfriend has bailed out, and her very own private stalker is emailing her to death with lovely threats of doom, fire, and dismemberment. So yeah, maybe a little holiday fling is in order. Strictly sex though, and no follow-up whatsoever. Once. Just once.

She hadn't counted on her take-charge holiday fling having an opinion of his own and stubbornly sticking around, before and after the sex, making himself at home in her life. There is definitely more to James than meets her prejudiced eye, and even if she's not ready to look deeper, James isn't prepared to permit her not to.

Audio needed help

I liked the story ok. I loved James, but Tate was a royal pain in the a$$! I didn’t get why she was so resistant to him and her attitude drove me nuts. The audio on this book was not great. I kept hearing what sounded like a space bar being hit repeatedly throughout the recording. I also was not a fan of the narrator. He was ok with Tate and James, but his acting towards the end was so over the top!

Amateur narrator with zero production editing!!

This was an excellent story that could've been one of my coveted five star reads if the narrator hadn't been so abominable. There were several instances when the narrator clears his throat or coughs at inappropriate times, which lets be honest, I get that this happens from time to time but this should've been edited out of the story. It was distracting and it disrupted the flow. Another thing that irritated me about this narrator was that his attempt to insert emotion in his tone of voice was over the top dramatic and this also disrupted the flow a bit for me. It's a shame, but bad narration can make or break a book for me. Audible, please get us a new narrator for this book!! I am a huge Elle Aycart fan!!

Great story. Awful Narration.

This recording skips and has a lot of background clicks and shuffling. At one point the narrator stops and clears his throat mid sentence (about 4 times in chapter 12).

production is terrible!

this is why any author needs to leave producing ro the professionals, bad editing knocked this story from a 4 star to a three star rating

Disappointed

This had the makings of a good story. The author gave both MCs deep issues that could have been used to build a deep connection. There was also a conflict in the heroine's personal life that needed the skills of the hero. Potential for action, suspense, mystery.

It fell flat and it grated. The types of issues these MC's had, needed more development. Also, the female MC was immature and judgmental for most of the book. It's okay for an MC to start out with issues, but her judginess (yep, made up that word) was offensive. Therefore, I needed a bit more growth out of her before the book ended.

Also, the narrator (Carl Hughes) screwed this up too. Maybe it was only my version (I used Audible Escape), but towards the latter part of the book, Hughes was coughing and clearing his throat. Can you edit that crap out please?

This was my first book by this author, so I'll try something else by her.

Great storyline!!!

Loved this story.
The narrator kept clearing his throat and bumping the mic though. This totally turns me off a book usually but this was so good I powered through and was not disappointed.!!!!

really good

overall love the story this time the girl screws up which I read a lot of these books and usually it's the guy that screws up. so it was nice to have flipped. things I didn't like about it was you could hear the person that was reading the book clear his throat a couple of times you could hear him do a couple things in the background I don't know really threw off things when you hear someone clear their throat or swallow. but the man's voice was nice enough.

James Was Great - Tate Was Extremely Irritating!

Would you recommend More Than Meets the Ink to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe but I would warn them that Tate is extremely annoying and could have avoided so much if she had just let James help her!

What does Carl Michaels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's a great narrator. This is the first time I've heard a book that he narrated and I will definitely be watching for others that he narrates! He makes James come to life!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really, no!
