Very enjoyable listen. I intended to listen to this over a few weeks but I got so so hooked I got thru it in 2 nights, I literally could not stop listening. For once the characters were realistic and relatable (which is rare for this sort of book). A great mix of romance, the submissive side of sex and the everyday life of people who live in these roles. Fantastic book!

Where does Her Secret Submission rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For the few audio books that I have downloaded from the adult section, or rather the erotica section, this book is quite high. It's well read, and well written, and it was able to keep my attention for the entire narration. It says a lot about Amanda Hendricks's narration, when I say that this book doesn't fall into the trap of trying to be like all the other erotic novels. She keeps it very down to earth and believable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Her Secret Submission?

The first meeting of Sir and Alex. Alice Wright knows how to write the tension between these two characters. It shows that she has written erotica before, since she was able to guide the reader through the encounter, without making it seem to over the top. It is easy in romance and erotica to get a bit carried away with dialogue, and character description, but Alice Wright knows how to bring it without making it seem cheesy. It also makes it a lot more believable.

Amanda Hendrick's performance during the book is amazing. You can tell that she really enjoys reading the subject matter which is important for romance novels. The last things that you want when you're listening to a book, is someone who seems as though they are bored while reading. This is even more important I think for the romance and erotica genre. If the narrator is bored, then it's hard to get into the mood. Amanda is able to get you into the character of Alex and keep you there. She makes every scene come alive as though you are actually there, which adds to the excitement of the book.

Alice Wright is able to make all the love scenes very hot without any of them coming off across super cheesy or unrealistic. The way she describes the scenes is perfect. She doesn't use a lot of flourishes of language to make each love scene sound bigger than it is. This actually adds to the anticipation of each scene. Believe it or not it makes it a lot hotter when there is not a lot of vulgar dialogue used.

Unlike other books, the description of a BDSM relationship doesn't seem like an abusive one. Alice clearly has done her research and applies it with great skill here. I can't wait to get the next one in the series to see how everything continues.

Would you listen to Her Secret Submission again? Why?

I would most definitely want to listen to Her Secret Submission again whenever I am alone and feeling bored. This was my first erotic audio book that I have ever purchased and listen, and I have to admit after listening to the whole story that the writer Alice Wright knows how to take you into that sensational scene so you can visualize the whole thing right in front of your eyes. I am looking for more books from the same writer and would love to listen to this book again repeatedly until I get the new book from the same writer.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way how the writer Alice Wright has portrayed fantasies of a girl "Alex" in this story. It was more like a story of the girl who is having the pleasure with feel of a guilt of betrayal. As writer herself describes Alex as "While Other girls bloomed into growing young women and spend their saturdays with boys, Alex has spent her free time in the library". The way Alex meets her "Sir" and the fantasies that she perform was certainly the top point of this story. The twists and turns and the deep character definition of everyone makes it feel like all of them standing in front of you. Writer Alice Wright did a terrific job in making this story more sensational

Have you listened to any of Amanda Hendricks’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never listened to Amanda Hendricks before. This was my first time listening to her performance and I would say it was top notch. The narration of the book was tremendous. The theme of this book demanded a solid narration performance from the narrator and Amanda Hendricks did a wonderful job there. The delivery of words and timing of the dialogues were amazing. The emotions of the script were very well transferred to the audience and she made it look like so real that I eventually thought the scene is happening right in front of my eyes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, the interest that Writer Alice Wright builds throughout the story is exceptional and makes you irresistible to continue reading until the end. The sensation that she creates with those BDSM scenes were pure skill. It may be her experience in writing erotica or something else but Alice Wright has perfectly portrayed the domination and submission of the characters, making it exciting for the listeners to keep thinking what would she do next and what would happen in her relationship with the mystery guy "Sir"

This book is amazingly interesting. Both of the writer Alice Wright and narrator Amanda Hendricks did a wonderful job in keeping it real. Some of the BDSM scenes were so perfectly portrayed that I couldn't even erase it from my brain even while writing these lines. Specially Amanda Hendricks's delivery of words and emotions during those scenes made it look like she is physically present in the body of Alex. The Writer Alice Wright also did a very good job in trying to make those scenes so hot and sensational that you would keep imagining it days after listening to the story

Hot, Wild, Erotic! This audiobook is filled with hot erotic scenes that make the audiobook (Her Secret Submission) a really captivating erotic book.

What did you like best about this story?

The audiobook is an interesting book on its own, but the narrator (Amanda Hendricks) make the book really enjoyable, she knows when to lower or heighten her voice. The author did a great job with the book and the narrator helped by perfectly displaying the role of each character in each scene. This makes every scene of the story really captivating and also takes the listeners' imagination to different places.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is in section 5, I like the scene when Alexis and Fiona sat down in the restaurant to have a coffee, as stated by the author, Alexis and Fiona are best friends and Alexis was forced to tell Fiona about her secret escapade. How it happened and how she couldn't help but get stuck with the mysterious man. With the help of Fiona, she had to meet up with him again that same night.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, this book is intriguing, captivating and interesting. It caught me spellbound and I can't help but listen to the whole audiobook in one sitting. One of my favorite romance books so far.

Honestly, this is one of the best romantic books I have ever listened to, I will greatly recommend this book to readers who are greatly immersed in BDSM culture. This novel will take your imagination into different places. The author's creativity in building up the scenes and the narrator's skill in perfectly displaying the role of each character makes the book really great. Highly recommended!

I completely adored this book! The characters and their connections are confused, tense, thus emotional. There's a great deal of plot turns and good and bad times - not only a group of simulated intercourses! This book is totally unique with a marvelous mix of erotica and exclusive requirement contemporary fiction.
A great story of true and sometimes severe domination and submission. Hot, sexy, and extremely erotic! Fantastic job again!!!

The real gold standard in erotica

Any erotic novel released is naturally going to compared to 50 shades. Its commercial success has meant it has become a byword for the entire genre. I really don't think this is fair, considering it means books like this are overshadowed. This book is what erotic fiction should be.

It's a very different, but interesting story. What impressed me the most was how the author handled the erotic scenes. It's easy to just simply make them graphic, this book mastered the art of making them intense but subtle. Not overdone at all, but make the pulse race much faster than simply explicit prose.

Few authors manage to portray domination and submission well. Very few create the intensity of the power exchange but this book nails it. It develops over the course of book, and is believable. You can feel the tension in the pages.

The book is very well written, far superior to 50 shades and I loved the narration. It perfectly matched the tone of the book and really brought it to life. I am very impressed and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience real, intense erotic fiction. It will really appeal to those in the BDSM scene who are sick of poor imitations of the real thing. This book is real, intense and exhilarating.
