Publisher's summary

After being captured by people smugglers, on the perilous journey by boat along the African coast, the girl they call Chengi discovers from the sheik a taste for the whip and the perverse joys of discipline. As she sheds her rights, as well as her clothes, so she sheds her preconceptions. At the sheik's fort on the edge of the Sahara, she revels in being an object of desire and feels accepted in the harem when the women shave her body and tattoo her in the clan's blue spider.

As Chengi learns her craft as a concubine, she explores the deep mystery of her awakened sexuality, a fairy tale life that ends in betrayal when she is carried off by wild camel herders to the slave market in Timbuktu. She is sold to black magic pagans planning a human sacrifice. Will the sheik save her? Or was their erotic passion just a dream? Chengi must wait until All Soul's Night to learn her extraordinary fate.

Chloe Thurlow lives in a Chelsea attic and writes her stories from two to six in the dead hours of night. At 27, Chloe is the author of three erotic novels praised for their lyrical writing style and unblushing sensuality.

Oh So Naughty

As other reviewers have stated this book is not for the faint hearted. There are some shocking scenes so be warned so remember the book is fiction and fantasy. Having said that!

I found the first chapter of Girl Trade both shocking and highly erotic. I was hooked, even as a few times I was appalled. I couldn't stop reading and found this book to be a naughty, naughty delight. The author paints a vivid picture of exotic lands as the heroine, a young girl from London, sets off on an erotic adventure like no other. Emily has it all on the surface - a good job, good friends, and good social standing. But she's bored to tears with her life, and she doesn't feel like she knows herself. Not really. So she does something impulsive and swims through the ocean to a tiny island where she meets the beachcomber who strips away her freedom.

As the book continued on, I became mesmerized by Emily and her path to personal discovery as she becomes "Chengi" and grows to care for a sheikh. I hung on every word and kept turning the pages, so enthralled was I by her compelling internal voice, and all the thoughts going through her head as she attempts to rationalize and come to terms with her behaviour in a new world of pleasure, pain, and sexual service. Girl Trade, without a doubt, has the potential to become a cult book. It's a book I'll listen to again and again. I look forward to more works by Chloe Thurlow and would love to see a sequel to Girl Trade.
Anneke Carter was good with the delivery of the story.

Erotic, tale beautifully worded and told

Would you listen to Girl Trade again? Why?

I was so surprised at this story the wording and discriptions of places and things happening. I didn't want to stop listening. This English woman who becomes a slave do to being in the worong place. Tells the story in first person. As time goes by she finds that she enjoys being a a slave and being beaten. She loves having sex with the sheik no matter how he treats her. They call her Chengi. She talks about what her life was like in England. and she sees how poor and third world people live and realize how spoiled she is. She love being disiplaned. This story is all in first person, you see how her feeling change about circumstances and she only wants to spend her life with the sheik

Have you listened to any of Anneke Carter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but I will look for her because I truly enjoyed her narration.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Chengi realized how much she enjoys pain and being used as a sex slave.

Any additional comments?

The discriptions of cities, jungles, the heat of the desart, the pain of being wipped are just done with such passion you actually feel what this woman is going through. I reall will get another book by Chole Thurlow. She really has a way with expressing emotions and feelings.

OH SHEIKH!!!

This book was not your every day erotica. It read more like a diary of a young english girl who was tired of her boyfriend and her mundane life. She goes on vacation alone and ends up in the hands of some shady men. Anyway not to go into the whole plot, this book was a well written and although it has strong sexual content I am not sure it can be called erotic.
It was the journey of one woman on a quest to find herself. There are some very dark and disturbing parts of this book so be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. I will defiantly read more of this authors books.
