Publisher's summary

When you gamble with desire, be prepared to risk everything.... Unlike the rest of the Hell's Eight brotherhood, Ace Parker's home isn't on the range. This restless cowboy craves the hustle of Simple, Texas, a lawless town where he can sate his darker appetites without guilt. At least he could until Petunia Wayfield arrived. The prickly new teacher is insisting that Ace help her rid the town of drunkenness and card playing. For that kind of miracle, Ace demands a reward the spinster schoolmarm will surely never give. But Petunia isn't backing down. Not when the intense passion Ace offers shatters her to the core.

As soon as she can afford a ticket home back East, she'll leave Simple behind for good. Until then she'll match his sensual challenge with her own, daring him to give up his fiercely guarded self-control. And then real danger claims Petunia, forcing Ace to reveal the man he really is - even if it drives her away forever....

ACES truly are Wild

Great story from beginning to end. I can not wait for next one in the series. This story kept my interest from start to finish.

Ace's Wild

If you love Sarah McCarty books, you'll love this one too. The only thing I wished for was more of that raw, sexual tension McCarty weaves so well. I'd recommend this book.

This is Book 7 of the Hell's Eight series.

If you could sum up Ace's Wild in three words, what would they be?

Not deep enough

What did you like best about this story?

Continuation of the series - I hate to be left hanging, so come on, Sarah...you gotta have one more for us! Yes, I love series books and getting invested in the characters and combined story lines for the long haul. Hell's Eight has been a favorite and I'm hoping the author will favor us with another trip out with the boys. While this wasn't my favorite book of the series, I did enjoy it.

Which character – as performed by Chris Chappell – was your favorite?

Hester

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

Don't know why this doesn't show up as part of the series in the catalog listing... Story line was true to the series although I wish there had been more exploration into the dominance/submission plotline as it could have played out in that time and locale. I get that 50 shades was the flavor of the day and this story takes a wispy pass at that, but it was not as deeply explored as some of the other aspects of the slightly edgier things that the men of Hell's Eight enjoy with their women. It is the raw intensity of the sexual exploration that hooked me on this series.

And even though there are only original boys of hell's eight - Tia needs a book, too!

#7 of Hell’s Eight

Ace Parker meets his match in Petunia “Pet” Wayfield, schoolteacher. While traveling West, Petunia is stranded in town. She takes up the job of schoolteacher and tries to improve the town by righting injustices. It takes her some time to realize that Ace has been her “guardian angel” all along - watching out for her, helping her. It takes a lot for this strongly independent woman to trust Ace enough to give him her love, her all.
Chappell is a decent narrator. Again, I say that having one consistent narrator for the series would have added to the experience.

Very good Book

I put off this book for all summer. I finally used a credit and decided to take a listen. I really loved it. I still shake my head and ask myself why did I not read it sooner.
I have listened to the series three times now and this is one of the best. Very good narration and the story held my attention.
Try this series, you'll like it too.

A story to go with the sex would be nice.

The writing is so bad and the storyline is no real story, rather a backdrop to write one extremely raw sex scene after another. Glad I didn't spend a credit on it and picked it up through the romance subscription.

What happened

I have listened to the other books in this series and waited patiently for the next addition. I was highly disappointed. The others kept me interested and sometimes made me laugh out loud. This one was boring, humorless and the narrator was hard to listen to. Disappointed.
