great book! great story line! didnt leave me hanging or questioning ehat was going on. it had terrific plot and character development that didnt feel at all forced.

Renee Rose never fails to entwine her interesting characters and in this story she merges the fantasy elements of shape-shifters with the business world – and of course, there are the hot sexy spankings. This plot has several twists as the Alpha Wolf brings the human woman into both his business and personal lives. I had read Ms Rose’ promotional short story with these characters in ‘The Alpha’s Punishment’ and I jumped at the chance to enjoy the full story of how Ashley and Ben created their unusual relationship.

I found Sierra Kline’s performance to be wonderful addition to Ms Rose’s words. Her soft narrator voice adds to the building erotic tension, however, her variations for the character voices are a bit strained. What is most noteworthy is the relaxed, stimulating way she adds to the sexual tension for the erotic scenes – a great performance.

Good book

I found this book to be good. It had a good plot. Had excitement, mystery, suspense, intrigue, heat, adventure, unexpected surprises and love. It's fast-paced, well written with a story that just takes you on a thrill ride. The heat between Ashley and Ben is off the charts steamy hot. The characters are strong, sexy, smart, deep and complex. I didn't like the spanking part. I don't find that sexy at all. Nor was the over use of the P-word welcomed.

While the book was good, I did have problems with the narrator. Her regular reading is good but some of the voices she did were awful. The voice of Ashley sounded like she was 5 years old. Which was irritating. Zolla was another character that sounded bad.

I enjoyed this book and hope that there is a book 2. It would be nice to learn more about the other wolves.

Ashley and Ben

Ben made up a PA job just to have Ashley close to him. She accepts the job. Ben is alpha but not over the top. He realizes she is his mate but also knows that since she is human, if he has sex with her, he could really hurt her. Ashley's sister is kidnapped and Ashley is blackmailed into stealing Ben's laptop. At times, Ashley could be very annoying. I think this was a pretty good book. Sierra Kline did a very good job with the narration.

The Alphas Hunger

OMG could this book get any sexier. Enjoyed the story BUT the narrator Sierra Kline nearly ruined it for me. Her voice and the way she read ........... arghhhhhhhhhhhh, torture. Might have to physically read the next book in the series, cause I don’t think I could listen to her read another one

I listened to most of this book, even though the narrator made the female lead character sound incredibly whiney. It started out as an okay, heavy on the sensual, shifter story. Then, the whiney main character started to driving me nuts. I had to stop listening with an hour and a half left, because she became an illogical stereotype.

One example- she basically raped him at one point, even though he had continually and clearly warned her he would hurt her if they had sex. Then, she totally freaked out and was “shocked” when she was hurt after her actions resulted in him marking her. That scene was followed by her being mad at him for leaving, after she made it clear she didn’t want him around, along with other irrational behavior.

One of the better Renee Rose, one of the weaker Sierra Kline

Renee Rose’s books can be formulaic to the point of boredom sometimes. I think it’s not as noticeable if you were getting one new book a quarter (like most romance novels were published) but binging on them gets tedious. There was just enough actually mystery/suspense in this one that it carried the story while still being the erotic romance I was here for.

I also really liked the way the relationship built between the hero and heroine. For the length of the book, it was as deep as it could get. It was insta-attraction, like magnets pulled toward each other, but it wasn’t until they got to know details of each other that Feels developed.

The power dynamic developed in a more natural way than I’ve seen it portrayed in some of Rose’s other writings. Accelerated compared to real life, of course, as is true of all relationships in romance novels. But the PE steps here were alternatively playful, shocking, restorative, and relationship-deepening.

Sierra Kline has the ability to make even terrible writing sound super fun and sexy. She’s an incredibly versatile voice actress. I’m only disappointed because I have such high expectations of her and I’ve heard her do better work. It’s like she’s trying just a little too hard here to make it sound sexier, vs leaning into the chemistry and the timing, timbre, and tonality of dialogue.

She’s still great, 4.5 stars (rounded it up to 5 for the review).

I would definitely recommend this book and this narrator.

Hot Shifter Romance

This book is about a damaged alpha unwilling to take control, until he stumbles into the woman that makes his wolf howl.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.
