Publisher's summary

Book 2 of the in the Up In The Air trilogy.

James and Bianca's tumultuous story continues in the sequel to In Flight.

James has initiated Bianca into a dark and drugging world of passion and pain. He taught her about her own submissive, masochistic nature, and she fell swiftly and deeply in love with the undeniably charming and impossibly beautiful Mr. Cavendish, but a painful misunderstanding and the return of the brutally violent demons of her past have combined to overwhelm Bianca, and, confused and hurt, she pushes him away.

It's been over a month since the shocking attack that hospitalized her, and since she told a distraught James that she needed space, but her feelings haven't gone away. Even she knew that it was only a matter of time before he would cast his spell on her again...

This book is intended for ages 18 and up.

OMG this COMPLETELY blew book 1 out of the water!!

Wow..Oh...Wow...I'm not kidding when I say the sequel completely blew the first book out of the water!!! For some reason, I just couldn't connect with these characters in the first book. I almost didn't continue with the sequel but now I'm sure glad I did.The story begins around one month after the events of the first book, In Flight, it picks up with the drama straight away, with James and Bianca still struggling with their tumultuous relationship. They both still want each other, badly, but Bianca has issues with the relationship side. So, she is taking a break from James while trying to collect her thoughts & pull herself together. Being with James is scary for her. He's the only man she's ever had feelings for and she can't think clearly when he's near her. At times, I did find Bianca a bit more irritating & frustrating in this book rather than the first. And James Cavendish, you have slowly won me over & rocked my world! Let me just take a minute to fan my self....whew! Hot, Delicious, Smexy man!! His character was definitely more engaging in this book less abrasive. We see a softer deeper side of him. James is full on head over heals in love with her in this book. He wants her so badly and will not stop until he gets what he desires from her. His feelings for Bianca run extremely deep. When she finally acquiesces and allows herself to meet up with James at a party the sparks ignite and their relationship moves quickly. Of course, this is mostly due to James and I wouldn't have expected any less! He is certainly the man who knows what he wants and will go ALL OUT to make it happen. However, he has a ton of work ahead of him trying to get Bianca to open up and see the relationship for what it is. Yes, James is still controlling and dominant, he mostly keeps it restricted to the bedroom, although he is bossy and involves himself in Bianca’s life in any way that he can. But, this is fiction, it’s expected from him, and we love it! And he seems to know what she needs. I did find some of their behaviour together a little strange (the undressing, bathing, and then there’s the other side with the punishment stuff), but I guess it did works for them. Regardless, their chemistry is absolutely palpable as well as in the BDSM element. The steamy scenes in this book are even more SIZZLING HOT in this book than the last. Actually, there were some very unique sex time moments. (I did eye roll during one but it was still entertaining). I really liked the BDSM in this one. It wasn't too much and didn't feel overwhelming. Overall, the story focused on Bianca & James' relationship as they deal with past partners, jealously, paparazzi and some revelation regarding her family towards the end. And this is when I share how much I HATE FREAKING CLIFFHANGERS!!! So, as you can guess the drama continues with Bianca’s family and James’ exes, and with particular storylines that were left undone and twists uncovered, I’m looking forward to seeing further developments in the next book. In fact, I'm very anxious for Audible to release the 3rd book Grounded! For me Mile High was the perfect combo of sex, sex, sex *wink* wink*, love and domination. James really lit up the pages keeping us fully in tune to his dominating ways. Bianca was the perfect submissive learning that with James she's exactly where she's suppose to be. For a sequel, I was extremely impressed, and I felt as though the author did a superb job of keeping the story spicy and interesting. The character development ans pace were great. I would absolutely recommend this series.

Invested in this story

I got hooked from the first book and it look's like I'll be getting book 3 when it comes out. I want to know what finally happens. The sexy parts are pretty good but I have to admit it's the wanting to know how the story goes that has my interest. I've really enjoyed the female character in this series. She really has our hot alfa guy tied up in knots. The secondary stories are interesting too. Plus this has the murderer that hasn't been brought to justice. So yes to this book, and waiting on book 3.

Worth Miles more than 5 Stars! Total Excellence

Any additional comments?

I just read this new series (only book 1 and 2 out so far) and Loved It - STEAMY in capitals! Ok first things first, I LOVE the characters in this series. If you loved 50 Shades and Bared to you you will love this book. I know a lot of women swooned after Christian Grey but did you really identify with Ana Steele? Well I definitely identified with Bianca Karlsson. She’s strong and definitely the one holding the reins. As for James Cavendish….wowza! He’s a mix of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross and definitely my new book boyfriend ;) very alpha, possessive, dominant male. So what’s the book about? First all of its Erotic Romance. A genre i love. Its about a first class flight attendant Bianca Karlsson who meets a billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish. They both have their demons but are instantly attracted to each other, mostly because of their clear sexual..erm…predilection. Why did i love love LOVE it? Again, the characters were believable, the girl was strong and the man was sooo swoon worthy but also so honest! Plus the sex scenes were crazy steamy! It was just such a joy to listen to this book and can't wait for the conclusion of this trilogy to be released on Audible...

A MESMERISING, POWERFUL EROTIC LOVE STORY

Oh what a loveable drool-worthy hero James is.... he's romantic, sexy, understanding, kind, generous and so so sorry for everything and wants to be forgiven and help Bianca who has brought love into his life. However, she needs space and time to heal but James is relentless, possessive, jealous, obsessed, worried and desperate for a second chance which she eventually gives him because their sexual chemistry is off the charts and she's missed the impossible, demanding, wonderful, beautiful man (can't blame her there).

Another gripping instalment that's full of emotional turmoil, angst, passion, a volcanic sweet romance, great secondary characters, secrets and way more BDSM hot sex scenes as well as touching tender ones too. It moves their volatile story along nicely and there are some really touching words said by James whose life and future is now in Bianca's hands.

Worth a credit? Enjoyable, emotional and a pleasure to witness this bitter-sweet romantic love story whether it's between a Dom and his Sub, a reformed Playboy and his gentle Stewardess or simply a man who's very much in love and grasping to keep hold of the love of his life. A very very creditworthy series.

Exceeded Expectations

Which were, admittedly, pretty low. Even though this book, the second in the series followed the most overused plot line in recent history - billionaire falls for a beautiful innocent who doesn't realize she is beautiful - there is actually a subplot, with tension and suspense. This is a better book than expected, probably a better book than it deserves to be with the silly cover picture, which makes no sense.

The narration was good and even though it ended with several questions still unanswered, since of course, there is a book 3, you didn't get the feeling that the author ended mid-sentence as they seem to do in so many of these series.

So, if you are OK with the sex, and there is lots of it, then this is an OK romance made slightly better by the mystery and suspense.

Written for 20-somethings

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Well-spent is a high threshold so I'd have to say meh. The sexy parts were fun. Though no humor was intended I did have to laugh out loud a couple of times at the cheesy romance novel cliches. It does pull you in, though, waiting to hear what's next. Better than Book 1.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mile High?

The revelation of James' tattoos.

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Powers’s performance?

She sounded like a beauty contestant/Barbie Doll. There was no effort to convey differences between multiple female character voices, and she didn't even bother to consistently lower the scale of her voice for James' lines.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

This seemed to be written by a talented college girl. Disappointingly poorly edited. Glaring grammatical errors and use of close-but-wrong words were jarring mood-killers. I HATE cliffhangers -- after all, this isn't TV -- and thus felt cheated by the abrupt ending. There should be a warning so those of us who are so offended by them can avoid these books.

A SWOON WORTHY ROMANCE, Book 2 SOARS!

Ok, this series is about James Cavendish, a very handsome, beautiful man who is a billionaire and a master of his universe in the business world. Aside from being very rich and good-looking, James has a sorted past sexual life, as he is a dominant and has chiefly engaged in the BDSM lifestyle kind of relationships with women. In this respect, James has never experienced a relationship of the heart...only meaningless sex and all that it entails. BUT, what I adore about this series is that at the base of it, this story is about how James falls desperately in love (although he has never used the "L" word) with Biana Carlson, a gorgeous flight attendant who is a wonderful person (btw, she of course falls in love with him too, duh). The more I read this series, the more it's understandable how someone living such a cold existence as James had could fall deeply and helplessly in love with a beautiful woman like Bianca.

In this book, I came to love Bianca even more as a heroine. I like that she is careful with her heart, I like how she continues to maintain dignity and plenty of power in the relationship no matter what struggles comes her way. Yes, Bianca is a very strong woman with a tender heart....but what I love most is how James melts over Bianca, and I love their enthralling, head-over-heals, BDSM-ish sex life, and immoveable connection for another.

On the back burner, Bianca has to deal with the reality of a monster of a father and the danger this unstable man brings to her life. But, quite up front and personal, she has to deal with the women who pop up from James's past who want to derail her trust in him. James is focused solely on winning over Bianca's trust in order to secure her with him forever.

As far as the love scenes, they are all meaningful and steamy, taking the reader to the stables of Wyoming, the 4th floor play room in NY city, to Bianca's charming home in LV, limos etc, etc..... There are so many tender moments, meshed with hot-kinky ones that this authors spoils the reader by delivering on romance at it's finest. In fact, the sweet-hot romance stayed so strong throughout the book that I was just waiting for the ball to drop toward the end that would unsettle my peace with the couple's progress. Yes, I was right about a new development at the end of the book, but thankfully, even though it's alarming, it's not an angsty development from James's past, or anything like that. It is pretty awful though, but I know that it will only bring James and Bianca closer together......

OH, I'M LOVING THIS SAGA......SO GLAD IT'S SUMMER AND THIS WAS THE PERFECT AUDIOBOOK TO DELVE INTO!!!

Narrator: Elizabeth Powers continues to be excellent. She does such a great job with various accents of the characters and she is able to portray deep emotion and passion in each of the appropriate moments.

5 STARS FOR THIS SUMPTUOUSLY HOT AUDIOBOOK!!!

ENJOYING THIS SERIES!

This second installment continues to explore the whirlwind relationship of James and Bianca. I loved that this story revealed much more vulnerability between the two, which made me fall in love with them even more. There's an underlying suspense that runs throughout the story, so it'll be interesting to see how book 3 unfolds. There's actually a bit of a spoiler in the Tristan and Danika series, so I know a little of what is to come, however, this is such a great book I don't even care that I know how it ends. I know that book 3 is going to be phenomenal, and I can't wait to listen! Spend the credit, it's completely worth it.

Too much

Any additional comments?

I loved the first book in this series. I read that one and decided to get the audio for this one. This one had a ton of BDSM. Choking??? Way too much for me. I skipped through most of it. I didn't expect so much compared with the first book. He tells her to orgasm and she automatically does? That got old real quick. The narration was horrible. The voices sounded the same and I just couldn't buy into it. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I would've read it but I doubt it. I won't be finishing this trilogy.

About the same as the first

I'm going to be the odd one on this review as I am no more in love with this one as I was on book 1. I don't want to spoil the book so I will say that I didn't find it realistic how you cut yourself off from someone then jump back in full force without talking things out. It felt like something a teenager would do.

Just didn't work for me.
