This is a great, but can't be your only resource

I just passed my SPHR! I'm very excited and I will say this was a very useful resource. All the materials including this one state that you need multiple resources to study to pass the PHR or SPHR and need to put in about 100 hours of study time. I did a 3 day intensive course along with the HRCP learning materials and used this so I could study in an audio format as I was commuting. It was very helpful because the reader is not dry, and the material can be... He used funny examples that help you remember. I did read a reviewer say that the material is not updated for the test and in some respects they are right. The number of questions on the test is wrong, but the material is the same. David Siler tells you you should use other study methods with this one such as his videos on his site. If you use those or other materials like I did you will be fine. If you use only this audio book you will not pass unless you were already prepared. I did enjoy this and felt it was helpful for me. I would recomend it.

I just passed the SPHR!

I would definitely recommend this audiobook. I was having trouble studying the written materials due to time and the distractions of life. I didn't know how busy I was until I began to find it hard to go to my study group. I did attend a weekly class and I studied the books some but my main study tool was the audiobook. I found that I could listen while I did housework, walked the dog or on the way to work. I learned a lot from the book. By bookmarking the review questions and the parts I thought I would need to review I could then go back and study. I heard about this from someone who thought it was dry and something to "sleep by" but for me it made the difference between passing and failing my test. Much of the test comes from drawing on your experience but the details and the specifics of the laws and methods are something I got from studying and this book emphasizes those things. It won't be your only study tool. I suggest going to a class with your local SHRM chapter and having some study books but this book will help to catch some things those tools don't and it will make it so you can devote more time to studying.
