Revised and updated for the 2012 exams, the 2012 Audio Edition (abridged) of the PHR / SPHR Study Guide is a comprehensive audio program that covers all six exam areas and includes an audio glossary and numerous test-taking tips. Additional role-playing examples are included in the audio version to help illustrate certain topics. With more than 26 hours of clear and concise information, it is an important resource for those individuals who prefer to work independently in preparation for the PHR / SPHR certification exams.
This is ideal for the audio learner, those with lengthy work commutes who can listen while traveling, or anyone preparing for the PHR/SPHR exams who doesn't like to sit and read. This audio edition was developed by David Siler, SPHR, GPHR. A former question writer for the HRCI exams, David has more than 25 years of experience as a senior level HR practitioner.

This is a great, but can't be your only resource
Thank you, David Siler.
This was a great resource for the exam and for HR in general. I took the PHR a few weeks ago and passed (yay!). I feel like this audio book contributed to that greatly. I didn't use this as my only prep material but it was just as good as my expensive prep course books and the material in this audiobook was incredibly relevant to the questions that I got on the exam. There were actually a couple of times that I could hear David's voice in my head while answering the questions because I specifically remembered him talking about a topic.
This audiobook also allowed me to turn mundane tasks, like doing the dishes, into study time--which is pretty awesome because I got really sick of staring at a book for hours. I highly recommend this if you are in HR--it's definitely worth more than the price it is listed as.
My only complaint is he pronounces OSHA wrong. :) Oh and expect a few Star Wars references and role playing dialogues. They're silly but you'll remember the material.
