South Africa On The Eve of Apartheid's End
About 15 years ago, we saw an incredibly powerful production of this explosive play at Celebration Arts, a Sacramento theatre company dedicated to performing the works of black playwrights and works focusing on issues of ethnocentrism around the world. We have never forgotten it or the amazing talent of the black male lead, in particular. Recently when we were talking about it, I wondered if Audible might have a recorded version, looked for it, and found this stunner. If you're at all interested in what South Africa was like just before the end of Apartheid, if you admired Trevor Noah's recent memoir Born a Crime and want to know more, or if you just admire great theatre, this 2-man tour de force is for you.
