Publisher's summary

This program explains the concepts of Davis Dyslexia Correction for people who would rather listen than read. At the age of 38, Ronald D. Davis made a discovery about a perception that enabled him to read a book cover to cover: for the first time. The methods he developed have helped thousands of children and adults around the world to overcome reading, writing, study, and attention problems.

You will have a step-by-step procedure to correct procedural difficulties and confusions about written language. The two basic techniques discussed are Orientation Counseling and Symbol Mastery. Many parents with no special training have achieved excellent results by using this program.

Great Book - Bad Recording

The sound quality of this audio book is horrible. The book itself is fantastic, but the sound quality definetly leaves something to be desired.

Must Read!! Read This book NOW!

Where does The Gift of Dyslexia rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If you are dyslexic or know someone that is this book could change your life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gift of Dyslexia?

If you are dyslexic you, this book will help you understand that you are gifted. Which is probably completely the opposite of what your teachers and the school system has taught you.

What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?

The narration could be better.

Any additional comments?

This book is a must read (or listen) if you are dyslexic or know someone that is. Ron Davis, a dyslexic himself, explains dyslexia and how you can learn to overcome reading difficulties.

Davis explains that dyslexia is a gift and why some of the most famous and influential people (Einstein, Edison, da Vinci the list goes on and on) have been dyslexic. It is not a coincidence that these successful people were dyslexic, rather they were able to use their gift.

After reading this book, you will understand dyslexia is truly gift!

Good thoughts terrible audio

The story line is interesting and appealing but the audio quality is awful and references pages throughout the recording for reference.

Very informative

My son was just diagnosed with dyslexia.. I have listened fo this book over and over. Every time I re play it I learn something new. It is a lot to take in all at once. My son also listens to it every morning. It has changed the way we now communicate. He says "yes exactly that's how it is." So knowing and hearing it explains how he feels made him feel so much better. This book has given my son more self-confidence. And me a peace of mind and knowledge..

Changed my life......

I always carry a copy of this book in case I meet someone it can help.
I was always told I had a disability, but I knew my brain worked a little differently.

Outdated

While I still found the book somewhat intriguing and insightful especially early on, but much of the information I’m from stuff that I as a dyslexic don’t think is any longer in the diagnostic

Horribly outdated

This book is NOT science based and is possibly extremely harmful if someone thinks this is true.

Info was good. Audio quality horrible.

The information was very informative and helpful but the audio quality needs to be updated. It was very distracting and at times hard to hear.

Excellent

Tones of work went into this.
I don’t want to think about the effort gone to to make sure these insights were translated clearly.
Tactful use of metaphors when needed.
A noble triumph.

(Recording quality isn’t the best, but that doesn’t distract.)
