Before Python there was Horne
What made the experience of listening to Round the Horne the most enjoyable?
It is (mostly) extremely funny
What was one of the most memorable moments of Round the Horne?
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Not applicable (unless you mean Kenneth Horne as the compere. In which case, his deadpan, amused-bank-manager-in-a-comedy-sketch persona is unbeaten).
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not a book
Any additional comments?
Before Python and around the time of the Goons there was Round the Horne. The sketches and songs performed by, among others, Kenneth Williams pushed the boundaries of what the censor would allow in those days and comparatively, makes todays 'risky' comedians look like a little boy running up and shouting bum at his granny.

Good to hear some of the old humour
I used to listen to this when I was a child on a Sunday lunchtime. It hasn't lost it's humour although I feel the newer generations would not appreciate it. As it is a recording of a radio show and from the 1960s I thought the reproduction would suffer but it was just as I remembered it. With its bizarre collection of characters such as Ramling Syd Rumpo, Julian and his 'friend' Sandy, Gruntfuttock etc. it was a joy.
