Publisher's summary

Being confronted on the beach by a sexy stranger wasn't part of Natalie Conner's plans for a peaceful morning taking photos. And why on earth would he think she's taking pictures of him, anyway? Who is he? One thing’s for sure, he’s hot, and incredibly romantic, feeding Natalie’s wounded soul.

Luke Williams just wants the world to give him a break, so seeing yet another camera aimed at his face has him ready to pounce on the beauty behind the lens. When he finds out she has no idea who he is, he's intrigued and more than a little tempted by her. Natalie has a body made for sex, a sassy mouth and Luke can’t get enough of her, but he’s not ready to tell her who he really is.

Natalie is a no-nonsense girl who doesn’t do well with lies and secrets. What will happen to this new relationship when she discovers what Luke’s hiding?

recommended for all you erotic romanceaholics!

Looking for a steamy, no angst, pure swoon-fest?? Come Away with Me by Kristen Proby was a very sweet love story. The first in the With Me in Seattle series. The flow, the writing style, the feel of the story, the characters, everything just instantly hooked me.The perfect blend of sweet, angst-free romance and super hot sex. The story starts off when Natalie first encounters Luke while she is taking pictures one morning on the beach. Luke approaches her and demands that he give him her camera. The thing is, Natalie is unsure why this handsome stranger is enraged with her. Frankly, she thinks she is being mugged. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, Luke realizes that Natalie has no idea that he is a famous actor (or was one) and she really was taking pictures of the scenery. Needless to say, the man becomes intrigued. So ensues the beginnings of their sweet romance. Luke loves the fact that Natalie is not with him due to his fame and fast becomes smitten with this beautiful sassy woman. Natalie also falls fast and hard for the charming and utterly gorgeous man who has her heart beating faster. This book has no external drama or bad guy. No cheating, major stupidity, long separations or anything will make you threaten bodily harm. Its solely focused on the romance between Luke and Natalie! Their story is incredibly steamy and this is an erotic romance that has a lot of sex scenes. So, what made it 4 stars instead of 5? A few times I wanted to roll my eyes because of how unrealistic some parts were but this is fictional romance so I have no right to complain. I felt their relationship progressed super sonic fast. And lastly, and this might sound weird, but some parts of the story just felt a little ‘too’ perfect at times. Too many endearments, too many 'perfect' scenes. However, this book was still a gem! The characters were fantastic! I feel like the author put a lot of time into writing the perfect details, details that you actually want to know, not boring ones. I'm really looking forward to the other books in the series! If you love steamy romance without excess drama, then definitely add this book. Can't wait to enjoy the next book, Fight With Me!

3 out of 5 cheesetastic stars, baby

Narrator Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Jennifer Mack was very good. She added to the story and made it more tolerable. She's high on my favorite narrators list!
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 cheesetastic stars, baby (It’s not great but not so terrible I couldn't finish it.)
No tension, lots of sex, stupid drama and everyone is beautifully jealous. Enjoy!
If you're looking for a light romance novel with lots (and I do mean lots) of sex with zero buildup of sexual tension, you happen to love beautiful people who whisper sexily, jealous assholes, you don't have an issue with over usage of endearments and forced conflict then this is the book for you. Otherwise don't waste your time or your money!

Maybe I'm cynical from all the rip your heart out and stomp it into the ground books I've been reading lately but this book was super tacky to me. 'Baby' 'honey' 'beautiful' are the main endearments set on auto repeat throughout this book. Then there was the whispering. I absolutely did not like being persistently reminded how much she adored Luke's whispering! Did I mention Luke is beautiful, Natalie has a beautiful body (even though she has horrible body image) and everyone is beautiful, baby! Ugh!

"“I've fallen in love with a beautiful, sexy, sweet, jealous control freak.
Shit.”
― Kristen Proby, Come Away with Me"

Luke was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of jealous assholes. He automatically assumed the worst of every situation! If you are freaking out about your boyfriends reaction to finding out that you met with a single male client in a public place then dump him immediately!! He was too sweet then in your face jealous. It seemed like an issue the author forced to create drama, angst and/or conflict.

"“I want to kiss him for caring enough to be jealous, and smack the shit out of him for being so jealous he’s almost blind with it.”
― Kristen Proby, Come Away with Me"

Natalie's character wasn't terrible but she seemed a little childish to me. Her reaction to the big secret was a little too dramatic and juvenile. She thought Luke's jealous streak was hot and worst of all she thought it meant he cared! This just made Natalie's character weak and stupidly naive to me.

Conflict between the characters all seemed artificial and unnaturally written to create drama. I felt the book would have been a better read without it.

There was a lot of sex! It was on the verge of being too much. Some of the scenes were ridiculous but overall I enjoyed the hotness of the book. The problem was there was no buildup or flirty sexual tension. They met, fell in bed, fell in love, add some stupid drama, more sex and there’s your book!

I plan to read the next book in the series (I'm a glutton for punishment), mostly because I want to know what happens with her best friend, but if it’s the sugary sweet sex fest as this book I will be stopping there.

I listened to the Audible.com audio version. The narrator was very good, would give her 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Blah.... I want my money back.

Terrible story, less than stellar narration. If I had to hear "baby" one more time I'd throw my phone across the room.

I threw my Kindle across the room!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Fire the producer and make her talk like an adult

What didn’t you like about Jennifer Mack’s performance?

The narration caused me to want to find a watchtower and seek out someone to take my agressions out on!!!!!!!
Her voice was fine UNTIL SHE WENT INTO CHARACTER where it went up and grated on me to the point I couldn't get past the 1st date and read the book for myself. I will NOT get the rest of the series because of it. NOt even worth the $1.99 I paid and want my $$$ back

Yawn! Is it Over Yet?

There was very little depth to this story. The falling in love in two days was a bit hard to believe. There are no twists or turns to this book. It is plain old boring! Yes there are sex scenes that get steamy but after the first few you can just tune them out. The characters of Natalie and Luke are just dull. The narration is a bit to young and mousy for my taste. I was expecting more and must say I am disappointed. Sometimes it is good to listen to a book that is just a lighthearted romance but usually the characters are exciting or you just get sucked into the story. There is nothing like that in this book. I am trying to figure out how a series could possibly be made from this book. Save your credit and try something else.

Published Fan Fiction?

I feel like I'm listening to a different book to those the other reviewers have listened to. I'm three quarters the way through and all I can think is this is some weird fanfiction offering with the main male character and films he starred in renamed so it can be published as a book. The female lead smells like a 'Marysue' being gorgeous (but with low self esteem), brilliant at photography, rich in her own right without even touching the trust fund set up in her name due to a disturbing trauma in her past. She is perfect, he falls instantly in love with her - I'm beginning to wonder if Kristen Proby is trawling fanfiction sites to kick start her muse.

The performance is fine, but the story is so silly it is distracting me to the point where I'm anticipating the next bit of ridiculousness. Looking the reviews again, it seems that I'm in the minority so far as my opinion goes! Purchased on sale, so I'm not gutted about the amount I spent on this, but I'll certainly be more careful about Kristen Proby's offerings in future!

Cringe!!

I normally would not feel qualified to write a review when I can't even finish the book but its just that cringe-worthy that it has to be said. I made it to half way thru the first download and was literally cringing. It's so corny. 1 star is a gift. A couple meets and in less than 24 hours they can't live without each other. "Natalie" had issues which turned her into your basic slut but supposedly got over them and isn't a slut anymore but for some reason is begging for sex in less than 12 hours after meeting a stranger on the beach. Luke, a self imposed recluse, falls madly in love with Natalie in less than 12 hours because she is so amazing. Why he thinks this? No clue. I am seriously laughing at how dumb this is. 1000 apologies if the story becomes amazing in the end but to me it is like nails down a chalkboard and I can't listen anymore.
As for the narrator, her female character sounds like baby talk at times. Dumb dialogue in baby talk....Cringe!!!! Coments like, "do you work out?" and "I like it when you wisper" and "so, no sex?' CRINNNNGGGGEEEEE.....!!!!!!

No meat in this sandwich

This story lacked depth, There was no real plot. Falling head over heels in love with someone in two days is a little difficult to believe. Considering everything in their relationship happened so quickly, the story dragged on, and on ..... AND ON. After while it became all sex. I just didn't find this relationship believable.

I think this story could have been better if there was more time for the two characters to get to know each other, if there were a few more twists in the plot and if there were dual perspectives to the story.

Thankfully I only spent $1.99 on both the kindle book and the audiobook. Wouldn't recommend.

Uh, where's the Plot?

First book I've not been able to finish. No plot. WAY too many gag-worthy endearments. Main characters had no depth, no personality. I bought this because it was only $1.99, and it's fair to say that I got ripped off. Don't waste your credit or your 2 bucks. Step away people, STEP AWAY.

Tedious

What would have made Come Away with Me better?

A plot

Would you ever listen to anything by Kristen Proby again?

I doubt it

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jennifer Mack?

Susan Sullivan

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

When it finished

Any additional comments?

When you are afraid of being mugged, you don't go through a dialog or check him out when you are in this situation. It doesn't make sense and I really don't need to know a list of everything they wear.
