Publisher's Summary

Come with us to an Enchanted Place, a forest where Winnie-the-Pooh lived with Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, and Little Roo. The stories are about Christopher Robin and these good companions having wonderful times getting in and out of trouble. It is all very exciting and, really, quite thrilling no matter how young or old you may be. It is painful to try and imagine what the world would be like without them.Blackstone Audiobooks presents, from the unabridged collection A.A. Milne's Pooh Classics, the 10 stories of Winnie-the-Pooh performed by Peter Dennis. This is the only reading of these immortal stories authorized by A.A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin, who wrote, "Peter Dennis has made himself Pooh's Ambassador Extraordinare and no bear has ever had a more devoted friend. So if you want to meet the real Pooh, the bear I knew, the bear my father wrote about, listen to Peter."This collection includes the chapters:
In Which We Are Introduced to Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees, and the Stories Begin
In Which Pooh Goes Visiting and Gets Into a Tight Place
In Which Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting and Nearly Catch a Woozle
In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One
In Which Piglet Meets a Heffalump
In Which Eeyore Has a Birthday and Gets Two Presents
In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest, and Piglet Has a Bath
In Which Christopher Robin Leads an Expotition to the North Pole
In Which Piglet is Entirely Surrounded by Water
In Which Christopher Robin Gives a Pooh Party, and We Say Goodbye

Critic Reviews

"This program exemplifies the potential quality audio has for complementing text. Soothing music introduces and links the stories and verses. Subtle sounds of nature immerse the listener in Pooh's world and provide a backdrop for Peter Dennis' enchanting performance. Dennis' ability to switch characters and moods allows him to accurately portray the range of characters in the stories. These talents shine prominently....Dennis expresses the multitude of emotions in a childlike tone which is key to the success of the program. All ages will enjoy this marvelous performance of Milne's words." (AudioFile)
"Congratulations on your outstanding contribution to children and their families. The sort of growth your work inspires speaks for emotional, ethical, and character development." (Parents' Choice)

A man's best friend is a bear called Pooh

I think we all remember these stories from reading them to the children or TV adaptations but Peter Dennis does the most wonderful job of bringing Pooh and all his friends back into our adult lives that this trip down memory lane is the best I have taken for some time. I have listened to the stories again and again and always with a smile on my face and the occasional chuckle out loud. Listen and enjoy.

Piglet is the BEST!!

This is a must have for any family with children 3 years and above. The stories are wonderful and voiced so well. You cannot help but laugh aloud each time Piglet talks. Great fun for all! Replayability? Definately... requested almost nightly by our boys.

Just as it should be!

Naturally, as an American I have Sterling Holloway in my head as Winnie the Pooh and all the other voices as well. However, this rendition is just about perfect. I say just about, because the odd hiccups that Piglet is subject to (I think they are supposed to be grunts) are really quite annoying and distracting. But not enough to remove a star for performance. My son and I enjoyed this very much on a long drive across country....

Son loves it

We read Winnie the Pooh with our three year old, and he loves listening to this version of the stories over and over again, and often goes to sleep listening to it. The narration is lovely, not too fast, and the characters voices are easy to tell apart. I find Piglet's voice a bit irritating, but he loves it! Each chapter is separated by some gentle music and easy to navigate too. We're just bought The House at Pooh Corner as well!
