Publisher's Summary

A British newspaper editor in India does some favors for a memorable pair of strangers who confide in him their plan to become kings in Afghanistan. Then, two years later, he has a bizarre return visit - kings they have become, sure enough, but they've found the price of kingly mistakes was very high!

Well Done

Mark F Smith is one of the great narrators of our time. This is a perfect read for short time and highly recommended.

I couldn't get interested, as hard as I tried

What disappointed you about The Man Who Would Be King?

I thought the story had more to it... but it was plain boring and it dragged many times.

Would you ever listen to anything by Rudyard Kipling again?

No.

How could the performance have been better?

Not sure it had much to do with the performance.

What character would you cut from The Man Who Would Be King?

The narrator.
