"White Nights" is one of Dostoyevsky's shorter works told from the standpoint of an ultimate introvert, brought briefly out of his shell by love. Reader needs coaching
I love this story, and love Mrs Oliphant’s fluid prose and vivid imagery. The reader of this particular performance has vocal mannerisms that really irritate me. It borders on torture at moments. I’m sticking with it notwithstanding because the writing is so exceptionally good.

unbearable narrator
I returned this book after the first two sentences.... because of the narrators unbearable habit of torturing the end of each sentiences final word. How I appreciate Audible's return policy. I am desperate to read Oliphant.... having learnt about her though listening to the exquisite book The Mother Reader.
