Publisher's summary

Fascinated by the supernatural, Charles Dickens had a passion for the macabre and the afterlife that spawned a fascinating collection of short ghost stories. Dickens' unique blend of fantastic credibility and paranormal absurdity made his form of ghost story an instant success - one that keeps on chilling our spines nearly 200 years later.

Volume 3: 'The Signalman', 'The Portrait Painter's Story', 'The Mortals of the House', 'The Ghost in Master B's Room', 'Captain Murderer and the Devil's Bargain', 'Well-Authenticated Rappings', 'A Child's Dream of a Star'.

Charles Dickens was the most popular English novelist of the Victorian era and created some of English literature's most iconic characters, including Oliver Twist, Ebenezer Scrooge, and David Copperfield.

About the reader: Phil Reynolds is an experienced stage actor. Recent credits include Lt. Sam Weinberg in A Few Good Men and Freddy in Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Recent film projects include So What? and The Limes (a story set in the cutthroat world of ice cream men, inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet).

Phil can also be heard on several computer games, theme park rides, and guided tours!

Odd and Strange but i got sucked in

This collection of short stories are to say the least odd and strange but they provide the listener a taste of Dickens that is frankly bizarre but yet appealing in a weird way. I got sucked into these strange stories and had to keep listening !

Not my cup of tea

Disjointed, odd and strange. Tastes like Dickens, but without the character stock. Perhaps it's a bit of undigested beef on Dickens' stomach.
