First published in 1875, this classic excursion into Mark Twain's Mississippi River country will lighten your heart even today. The characters themselves - Tom's Aunt Polly, his friends Becky and Huck, even Injun Joe - evoke nostalgia for a simpler, more rural lifestyle. Mark Twain describes a people, and a place, full of affection, wit, and adventure... where a dark summer night in a graveyard searching for black cats, or even getting lost during a cave exploration, can be a truly exciting and fulfilling experience.

Will not play from chapter 25
The story is wonderful, Behrens the narrator also, but the book refuses to play from chapter 25, it will only start from the beginning. delete and redownload and device restart (Kindle Fire HDX!) Does not work. Luckily this one was not expensive. My confidence in Audible is now very low since also, some of my purchased titles do not work as advertised with immersion reading. ( expensive The Civil War series two out of three do not work as such. Redownloads and restarts no help)
All moments that could be heard playing.
Behrens is the best.
Fix all the bugs. But, I'm not buying anymore regardless what you do.

kids loved it
This story and its narrator just draws you in! I bought it for myself, thinking my boys wouldn't be interested in the old english wording but after hearing bits and pieces they wanted more and were so interested it kept them quiet and completely riveted for hours on end in the car.
Its boy heaven.
There were a few gasps here and there - especially when running into Ingin Joe!
