Film surpasses the book, but I still enjoyed it!

My LOVE of the film brought me to this story. Had I never seen the movie I still would've enjoyed this story. But the movie is one of those very rare cases where the conversion to film exceeds the richness of the written word. This a great story and I encourage you to buy this work and see the film, I'm happy I have!

- Bruce "My favorite listens are historical fiction. Robert Graves' "I, Cladius" and "Claudius the God" are my most enjoyable listens (and reads)!!"

The book is just like the movie.

Worth the listen to. Worth the read. Worth the viewing of the movie. You won't be disappointed. Rudyard Kipling at his best. Wonder why this book wasn't longer and perhaps more sub-plots etc. Never the less a very enjoyable couple of hours listening entertainment.
