Publisher's summary

In this early "Jeeves" novel, the infamous Bertie Wooster, rebuffing the assistance of his trusty manservant Jeeves, attempts to help his old chum and newt-fancier Gussie Fink-Nottle win the affections of the goofy but adorable Madeline Bassett. But without Jeeves to lend a hand, chaos ensues, and Bertie finds himself accidentally - and horribly - engaged to Madeline himself.

Right Ho, Jeeves contains a passage described by actor Stephen Fry (a Jeeves and Bertie veteran) as "the single funniest piece of sustained writing in the language".

A much beloved romp by the master of satirical comedy, the legendary P.G. Wodehouse

Good Fun!

Right Ho, a review then! Wodehouse’s wonderful romp with the upper end of British society is truly rib-tickling. The characters are hysterically colorful and are brought to life splendidly by Theis. From the stiff Jeeves, to the rotund Tuppy, to the old fox hunter Aunt Dahlia (my personal favorite), to the wonderfully nerdy newt-loving Augustus Finknottle (I dare you to say the name over and over again and not get tongue tied), to the increasingly perplexed narrator Bertie, Theis moves seamlessly from one to the next giving the listener a clear picture of the mayhem at Brinkley Court. If you are in need of a good laugh and enjoy a comedy of errors then I highly recommend this!

a great retelling of a great story!

as a long time fan of Jeeves, i was a bit reluctant to try this audiobook... But the telling of the story was as good as my imagination, the narrator did a fantastic job.

Perfection!

If you've read any of Wodehouse's Jeeves books before, you know what to expect. Bertie gets himself into an awful scrape, and Jeeves quietly extricates him from the situation, usually humiliating Bertie a little in the process. It never gets old. I love the Jeeves short story collections, but this full length story really lets Wodehouse plunge into the ridiculousness of it all. In Right Ho, Jeeves, Bertie is convinced Jeeves is losing his touch and decides to solve an old school chum's love problems by himself. Of course Bertie, the lovable goof, makes things worse, and spirals the whole pack of Fink-Nottles, Bassetts, the Market Snodsbury Grammar School, and Milady's Boudoir into a mess only the master of psychology can solve.

I absolutely love Wodehouse's writing. He's a master of language and he uses prose and Bertie's slang to great comedic effect. It's just so much fun to listen to, wonderfully quotable and easy to understand, every line is perfection. If you're feeling just a bit down, a chapter or two of Jeeves and Wooster would be the perfect pick me up. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Although I've read the Jeeves books over the years, I've never listened to them narrated before, and I've been missing out. Kevin Theis performed with perfect comedic timing, making me laugh out loud throughout the whole book. His voices for each character were spot on, he even made Gussie sound a bit like a newt. I'm not sure how he managed it, but he did! Wonderful narration, it was very good, sir.

Wow

I received a free copy of Right Ho, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse, and narrated by Kevin Theis in exchange for an unbiased review. This review copy Audio Book was provided by the author/narrator/publisher free of charge via Audio Book Boom.

Over the years, I have read Jeeves and enjoyed the stories very much, but listening to Jeeves for the first time on Audible was a real treat. Kevin Theis brought this story to life. Each characters voice was unique, and the narrator read each character changing voices as he read without missing a beat. It's safe to say Kevin Theis is my new favorite narrator.

Listener received this title free

if you like British dry humor this is the series

i haven't listened any other of the titles, but the dry humor keeps the story going. We all see ourselves as strong interesting people and we don't like to hear that our butlers are better at something than we are. Let the fun commence. The narrator brought this to life really well.

Jeeves

I kept laughing out loud and looking for someone to read also.I wish I know who appreciates this the way I do. The real tragedy, though, is realizing that I will never have friends with awesome names like Tuppy Glossop, Pongo Twistleton, and Gussie Fink-Nottle!

Absolutely brilliant. This one. THIS. ONE.

P.G. Wodehouse is funny. He's the very epitome of funny. What's more fun than a farsial frolic? Only one read by this wildly talented narrator, Kevin Theis. There are little flourishes that you will enjoy, too. (Musical chapter segues that truly set the tone.) The reading - the characterization, the voices, the pace are completely fantastic. You can SEE the 'play' unfold before your eyes. This is without question the most fun I've ever had listening to an audio book.

Why get it? It's a classic. If you don't know Wodehouse you should. If you've never heard of Jeeves, again, it would behoove you to meet this cast of characters. If you'd just like to smile while listening, enjoy something lighthearted and fun, here you go.

I haven't listened to any of the other Wodehouse audios (I've read a few of them) but I'm certain you can't top the narration on this one. Two thumbs up, five stars, triple hearts. Have fun. No, no, you don't have to thank me.

Kept me laughing

This is my first "Jeeves" book, and I loved it!! The narrator really did a great job capturing the essence of the characters and bringing them to life as they spoke. The characters themselves were funny and engaging, definitely ones I plan to hear more from as I find other books in the series. Definitely a good listen!

Fun! Great narration.

P.G. Wodehouse never fails with his English wit. The interplay of the eccentric characters is great, and I laughed throughout as things unraveled in the most ridiculous ways. You. Will. Love. It. My husband reads the collection of stories regularly, and would love this full-length novel! Kevin Theis was superb as a narrator. I am continually impressed with his work. Recommend!
