La Epopeya de Gilgamesh o Poema de Gilgamesh es una narración de origen sumerio, considerada como la narraciónescrita más antigua de la historia. Se emplearon tablillas de arcilla y escritura cuneiforme, lo cual favoreció su preservación.
Las 12 tablillas sumerias datadas entre 2750-2600 A.C. en las que aparecen los poemas que relatan las grandes epopeyasde Gilgamesh, lo ubican como un rey divinizado de la ciudad sumeria de Uruk. Se considera a éste poema la obra literariareligiosa más importante de la literatura acadia y la primera de las grandes epopeyas literarias de la humanidad.
El poema plantea los grandes interrogantes humanos: el significado de la vida, la angustia ante la muerte y la búsquedade la inmortalidad.
La versión más completa preservada hasta la actualidad consta de 12 tablillas, aunque no se hancompletado a la perfección debido a la fragmentación de la tablillas, se ha logrado rescatar gran parte del escrito.
La obra es leída en diversos idiomas y el héroe, Gilgamesh, ha pasado a ser un ícono de la cultura popular. Los críticosconsideran que es la primera obra literaria que hace énfasis en la mortalidad e inmortalidad.

El poema mas viejo del mundo
Hay otra obra de literatura más vieja que esta obra, pero es muy corta, y esta obra, Gilgamesh, se considera la obra más vieja de literatura de un cierto tamaño. La actuación en esta grabación no es mala. Es buena, pero no excelente. Una sola voz.

Maravilloso e increible
Este audiolibro me maravilló en todos los sentidos. Nos dá la maravillosa oportunidad de conocer un poco como era la primer civilización. Me parece increible saber que los seres humanos hemos cambiado tan poco desde el inicio de las civilizaciones en cuanto a nuestros deseos, sentimientos y roles. Este audio no tiene desperdicio, encontramos el concepto del amor y la amistad, el odio, la venganza, el temor a la muerte, la busqueda por la inmortalidad o convertirnos en dioses, ademas encontramos similitud con textos de la biblia y la leyenda de porque las viboras cambian de piel.

Gilgamesh poorly performed.
The story is a classic, but the performance is terrible. It is read (in Spanish) as children read poems, without an adequate entonation and with the wrong emphasis. If you don't know the story, you could not understand it on this version.
