A very interesting book, if partly read as an historical artifact. It is a must read, but it certainly does not have a contemporary feel whatsoever. More of a sequence of little morality plays, strung together, than a cohesive piece of work in a 20th century sort of way. A necessary companion to "March," also available on Audible.
This particular audiobook has a significant weakness, however. Poor recording and/or narrator exposition. It is very hard to listen to, whatever its other merits. Audible should be tasked to find a higher quality recording by the same narrator, or a different audio version altogether. I would certainly give it another try with a different recording. This recording is hard to recommend.
