I really enjoyed this.

I won't lie: I bought this particular version of Hamlet because of the price, but it turns out to be a very excellent performance. There is no tacky transition music and the actor who performs the title role is good enough that I'm trying to find more of his work, and the rest of the cast performs brilliantly as well. Great stuff.

My favorite

Hamlet is my favorite work of Shakespeare. this performance was very good. I could not help but see the play in my mind's eye as I listened.

Most definitely abridged!

Sections of the play are missing. Beginning of II.i.1-72 between Polonius and Reynaldo are gone. Also in Act II.ii.220 - 390, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are missing. I suppose some director thought the sections irrelevant to the overall story, but I purchased an "unabridged" version because I wanted to hear the entire play and follow along in my text. I'm very disappointed.

Not the Hamlet for Me

Although the narrators did a fine job of sticking to the text, I found this version difficult to listen to. It sounded "echoy" at times, as if a microphone had been placed on a stage and the actors were gathered around it. I stuck through the entire play and was disappointed. I opted for a different version and deleted this one from my collection. I must say, this was an inexpensive version, but costly in the end. This was definitely NOT the Hamlet for me.
