Good listen. Easy to understand and follow.

The book was an easy listen. I’ve only ever had a basic knowledge of Greek mythology. So it was a cool learning experience. Perfect for long car rides.

(The only thing I disliked, was during some of the chapter transitions I heard a loud sound of an AC or traffic in the background. Which isn’t a part of the book. Probably just a glitch or oversight.)

Overall good but with some errors

It was a decent introduction to mythology, but occasionally they mix goddesses names up or repeat phrases. It is told in a very textbook way so it is not always compelling.

Audio is all over the place

The story is overall not bad. The audio can be loud, will crackle, and random noises in the background throughout the book. The reader has a great voice just the quality of the audio is distracting.

Great Book Series

I listened to this along with Celtic Mythology (next in series) during my morning commute. I love mythology, so I already knew a lot of the material covered, but there was a lot that I forgot about and some new stuff as well. I'd definitely recommend!

The narrator also did a great job.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

This Audio Book with a very good Narrator gives insight to not only Ancient Greek culture but to the early progression of
European History and its various cultures.

Download and be transported to the beliefs and teachings of our early ancestors and gain the benefit of their timeless wisdom.

Colorful God's Turned Grey

Mythology provides us with some of the richest stories of the ancient world. They hold us captive with their characters and pull us into a world bigger than our own. I have listened to many books about various cultures mythological world, and this one was the most dissapointing by far.

I was hopeful at first when the writer lays out a small pantheon of gods and gives us their history and factual surroundings. However when it gets to the stories revolving around these gods, the writing remains black and white and boring. The characters are not given personality but rather depicted as soulless stones living out a dictionary. The reader does not help this problem at all.

Aside from dry writing and reading, I find some issue with the stories actual facts. Given the mythological catalog holds a LOT of variations on the same stories, some of what I heard in this book was nowhere near the version other books portray. I'm not saying they are inaccurate but I would have liked if he gave any other reference to other accounts like most others do. Alternatively, it would have been nice if he had supported his version by explaining where it came from and given some support to why his stories were so different from others.

Dissapointing read and won't do it again.
