Publisher's summary

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Drawing upon everyday incidents, common situations, and rural imagery, Robert Frost fashioned poetry of great lyrical beauty and potent symbolism. His language is simple, clear, and colloquial, yet dense with meaning and wider significance. This brilliant collection features some of Frost's greatest works, including "The Road Not Taken", "Into My Own", "Asking for Roses", "Mending Wall", "The Death of the Hired Man", "In the Home Stretch", "Meeting and Passing", and more. The words of this quintessential American poet come to life in the performances by Alfre Woodard, Arte Johnson, Elliott Gould, Joel Grey, Melissa Manchester, and others.

Older audio recording

What made the experience of listening to The Poetry of Robert Frost the most enjoyable?

The poems are gorgeous. I'm not a fan of the constant background music. The audio recordings were "remastered", but not very well. Audio quality is not great.
The actors reading are very good.

Love old Robert frosty

As an agrarian-born person, I appreciate the solitude of Frost's work, the emphasis on the outside, the significance of small/minute things and gestures, the symbolism. Sometimes the background music was soothing and once or twice I noticed it as a distractor.

I've had the complete collection for 25 years and it is so much better to have these gtreat poems read by professional performers. I hope my college English prof, Miss Brown who loved RFrost is listening with me - she always had that dainty little pink hanky in the corner of her eyes....ode to you Miss Brown

It's Robert effing Frost!

So great to listen to in the evenings, or when you need a little optimism and even when you need a jolt of inspiration.

Good...

Any additional comments?

I wish I had not spent my monthly credit on this :/It was good, but I think it would have been worth the money if it had more to it. I'm thinking I could have gone to half price book stores and found the book for much cheaper.

Beautifully performed masterpieces!

It was. a pleasure to discover more of the lovely poetry of one of my favorite poets. I'd memorized "Stopping by Woods" in grade school. I'd no idea what waited hidden among the rest. The Hired Man, The Impulse, and so many more jewels like hidden treasure saved for a later time in my life. Maybe I'd not have appreciated them as much as a child.

Country Poems and Memories

One of his most famous Poems, Home burial, is among this collection of country poetry. It's a must to listen to these poems well as to have them your library.

Not my cup of tea

This collection wasn't for me. Robert Frost has some things I like, but this just wasn't it.
