Publisher's summary

Candace Cameron Bure first became known to millions as a costar on the hit ABC television series Full House. Today, like her brother Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains, Fireproof), she is the rare Hollywood actor who is outspoken about her Christian faith and how it helps overcome certain obstacles.

Bure’s healthy lifestyle has been featured in US Weekly and People magazines as well as national talk shows including The View and NBC’s Today. In Reshaping It All, she continues the story, inspiring women to embrace a healthier lifestyle by moving faith to the forefront, making wise choices, and finding their worth in the eyes of God. Candace shares a candid account of her struggle with food and ultimately her healthy outlook on weight despite the toothpickthin expectations of Hollywood.

More than a testimony, here is a motivational tool that will put readers on the right track and keep them there. In addition to practical advice, Candace offers a biblical perspective on appetite and self control that provides encouragement to women, guiding them toward freedom.

Refreshing

I loved the book and the fact that Candace narrated the book. I'm hoping to put many of her ideas into practice. The only negative I have is that all the recipes are not included as a PDF. Since this is an audible book, I shouldn't have to write down all these recipes. Including a pdf wouldn't be that difficult and many other books already offer this option as well.

God used this book to begin transforming my life!

I got this book in hope of finding some inspiration to lose some baby weight that stuck around into my sons preschool years. God had a different plan and for the first time in a very long time I heard him speak to me. I not only lost weight and stay inspired by you Candace (and how God uses you) but have put down cigarettes and just walked away...something I have NEVER been able to do and truly strive to grow closer to the Lord. I try to walk at lunch and at least 30 mins after work and you are one of the constants in my earbuds!

SO worth the listen!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, definitely! It has been such an inspiration for me to listen to "Reshaping It All". I just completed it an hour ago and I am sure I will take another listen as it has so many laywers and so much depth. As Candace said in the book about sharing her testimony : "If you had the cure for cancer, wouldn't you also want to share that with everyone?" Not saying that this is the cure for cancer, but it has/and will help me tremendously, hence do I want to spread the word.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Reshaping It All?

I can't pinpoint one, as they kept comming in every single chapter!

Which character – as performed by Cameron Candace Bure – was your favorite?

Candace Cameron Bure

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No - I used it as a little treat for my self - so I only allowed myself an hour a day when cooking our family dinner.

Any additional comments?

This is NOT only a book for devoted Christians. This is a book for devoted human beings who want to do better. As Cameron Bure say: "Being good, just isn't good enough".

not enough substance

i thought this book would have more substance about spiritual health. The book was just a "Day in the life of Candace". I got 1/4 of the way through it before I quit listening. It just didn't capture my interest.

Loved it

I didnt listen tk this book for help with loosing weight. Instead for a christian perspective and i got so much more when turning her insights about eating to other aspects of my life such as finishing tasks and having the confidence and trust that God will help me.

Love This!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Reshaping It All to be better than the print version?

Honestly I am the type of person who will not sit down to read a book unless it is just to read the bible or for a bible study. I also have a problem with my mind wondering. I truly have to be doing more than one thing at a time to completely focus. I focus better with listening to a story. However in this one I think I would also like the printed form to be able to "Follow" along so that I can highlight and better note take. There is so much in this that I want it in print. However I love having the audio version 1. because it is Candace talking and I love hearing her read. 2. I just absorb it so much more from hearing it.

What other book might you compare Reshaping It All to and why?

Not sure there is one that I could compare it to (that I have read). It is not a diet plan book. It is a take it all to God plan, however it does an amazing job of bringing reality to it with stories almost anyone can relate to.

What does Cameron Candace Bure bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love her voice and how she shows her emotion through it while reading. Makes you feel like you are just talking with a friend instead of listening to a book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was not just A moment there were many moments. There were so many times while listening that I kept saying to myself "why didn't I think of that" or "WOW never thought of it that way" I thought this book would be more about do's and don't of weight loss. Nope It was about taking it all to God so that you can be successful. It changed my way of thinking toward pleasing God not to pleasing me.

Any additional comments?

I have already recommended this book to friends and will recommend to more. Love it. I got so much more out of this book than I ever expected to get out of it.

A Must Read

Always a fan. Sage advice from a fellow Christian striving to walk with Christ, and occasionally stumbling along.

Good to Hear Common Sense

While there are some real nuggets of wisdom and helpful, encouraging reminders, there are just as many frustrating moments of condescension and eye rolling holier than thou quips that do no Christian nor listener any good.

I recommend it for the positives but also warn you not to take Bure as a representatives for all Christians (nor any single Christian as such - the point IS that we’re flawed and that it IS God who helps us through) because even if you lose weight and gain health, perfect still isn’t something we’ll see this side of Heaven.

Couple of corrections needed

Great book... Almost. I have a few theology issues. First - God does give us more than we can handle. That's how He teaches us to rely on Him alone.

I don't prefer The Message as a biblically sound Bible version.

Great ideas to curb appetite, eat out, and stay focused.
