Publisher's summary

From Joshua Dalzelle comes the follow-up to the number-one best seller Warship. Captain Jackson Wolfe survived the initial incursion of a vicious alien species into human space...barely. He had assumed the juggernaut that had devastated three Terran systems was the herald for a full invasion, but for the last few years it has been eerily quiet along the Frontier. Jackson now struggles to convince the Confederate leadership the threat is still imminent and needs to be taken seriously. While powerful factions make backroom deals, he is desperate to find irrefutable proof that the invaders are coming, and if humanity expects to survive they must marshal their forces and make a stand before it's too late.

FABULOUS!

This is probably one of the best stories I've listened to thus far. The storyline of this trilogy is original and very well written. I especially like that the author does not build the story on technical, military, and strategical detail as many space military sci-fi authors do. Instead he provides the reader with just enough tenichnical information to make the story understandable. He relies on the strength of the plot & characters to build this story. There is a great twist at the end making the wait for book 3 almost impossible. One more thing, The narration is above exceptional!

A little predictable, but still fully enjoyable

From beginning to end, the book was fast paced. And I'm not just talking about the actions aboard ship. This book also had politicians being politicians (posturing and cheating everyone else), and that was also charged excitingly. The book had a couple of twists that will significantly effect the course of the rest of the trilogy. I saw one coming, but the other one caught me by surprised.

I enjoyed being reintroduced to the characters that returned, and I also enjoyed meeting the new ones. And the loyalty to duty and each other of the crews and captains was well presented and served as a good counterpoint to the politicians.

Mark Boyett again did a great job with this book. As each character spoke, I knew exactly who it was. He also does a great job with the narration.

addicting

incredible story developing into ... something I currently need like a damn drug. several interestingly complicated plot lines weave in an out of events... I downloaded the 1st book randomly through a Facebook ad I skipped several times. couple of days later I needed a new book and figured I might as well try something new and see what happens. honestly in love with the story and can't believe I almost kept slipping it over.

Another great story. The voice actor is one of my favorites. One would think there is an entire cast.

Great read for any sci-fi/military fan

A fast paced read that had me hooked and guessing till the end. With mystery and combat, Call to Arms delivered a very human story of the differences that divide human kind as well as the strengths that can unite us.
