Publisher's summary

In his instant self-help classic, the international best seller How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci, Michael J. Gelb identified seven aspects of da Vinci's genius that contemporary readers can emulate and apply in their own lives. Now, in Work Like da Vinci, Gelb adapts these principles to the specific demands of the workplace, sharing the innovative solutions to contemporary corporate and career challenges that have kept him in constant demand as a top-tier speaker and consultant to Fortune 500 clients.

In Gelb's expert perspective, da Vinci's genius can be distilled into seven principles for the business listener:

  • Ask the right questions (Curiosita)
  • Put your answers to work (Dimostrazione)
  • Develop your business senses (Sensazione)
  • Turn uncertainty into opportunity (Sfumato)
  • Strike a profitable balance (Arte/Scienza)
  • Integrate for success (Corporalita)
  • Make the break-through connection (Connessione)

These principles will help you tackle such timeless business challenges as: leadership; innovation; teamwork; strategic planning; decision-making; managing change and uncertainty; giving powerful presentations; giving and receiving feedback; and more.

    Motivational and Fun

I bought this book knowing I'm a little quirky and enjoy challenging my way of thinking and working. I never expected this to be so interesting to listen too!

For me, this is one of those books I know I'll listen to over and over and recommend to friends.

After listening to the book a couple of times:
    1. I started listening to different music while I work (Mozart) as Da Vinci did.
    2. I have been keeping a notepad with me to write all thoughts, complete or incomplete in, and I'm already really valuing it highly.
    3. I have started mind-mapping again.
    4. Taken time out of my day to be more mindful and aware of my surrounding
    5. Seeing the connections between much of God's wonderful nature and other things pertaining to life.

It won't change your life dramatically but for me it has definitely helped to set it on a healthy and richer course.

    Wow!

Great enthusiasm and passion for Da Vinci's ideas and principles in this audio. Gelb is infectious and I wholeheartedly recommend this audio together with Gelb's book 'How to think like Leaonardo Da Vinci'. Through the audio and books we can access more of our innate genius.

    Buy it

This is a great book. Very interesting content and Michael Gelb's charisma come through in his reading. Of course, this book doesn't go into the life and times of Da Vinci. That's not the promise of the book. Its promise is insight into the seven key principles that Da Vinci lived by. And it delivers on the promise. Good production quality, great content, lively reading. Buy it.

    great thoughts, great presenter

A very engaging and interesting listen. Wished it kept going. Sparked my interest in mindmapping and innovations by the great one. Not meant to be a history of Da Vinci - this regards his mental tactics and how you can use his methods of thinking.

    Not much about da Vinci

I was very disappointed in this book. There isn't much discussion of da Vinci, his life, or his deeds. Much of the first hour of the book is spent doing memory exercises. Treat this book more like a simple mind skills workshop covering material that has been covered exhaustively elsewhere. Don't expect to get much insight into da Vinci.

    Worst audiobook in my library

Would you try another book from Michael J. Gelb and/or Michael J. Gelb?

Definatly NO. How does one puts a Da Vinci name on the cover and delivers such horrible horrible content? Both the content and narration was below bad. Author displays arrogance and gives many in irrelevant examples, just to impress the audience.

What was most disappointing about Michael J. Gelb’s story?

Da Vinci name on the cover of such a horrible book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Fake laugh - how can you take seriosly his below avarage story after hearing that.
