Publisher's Summary

"Never started a company before? Struggling with little or no cash? Have no experience, no baseline to judge your progress against? Thank God! You've got a shot at making this work."
So says Mike Michalowicz, author of The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, a business book that is so uniquely useful, so raw and entertaining, it reads like the brainchild of Steve Jobs and Chris Rock.
The founder of three multimillion-dollar companies, including Obsidian Launch, a company that partners with first-time entrepreneurs to grow their concepts into industry leaders, Mike Michalowicz knows what it really takes to spin your great idea into pure gold.
Whether you're just starting out or have been at this for years, Mike's "get real" approach to business is a much-needed, swift kick in the pants. In this book, you'll discover:

Why a business plan is a total waste of your time
Why fulfilling your own needs is the first and last order of business
Which three sheets of paper you need to successfully launch, manage, and grow your business
How to get started in business with little or no money
How to find and exploit resources that no one else knows about
How to stop procrastinating and take action NOW!

Read in reverse order

This is the first book in Mike's series of books and having listened to them in reverse order, the insights Mike provides in later books with regards to the context in which this book played out help put it into perspective.

A great performance with a good story but I would encourage everyone to read Mike's other books first.

Just what this 60 year old needed to renegade.

I had almost checked out on my 32 year old business.......nearly lost the passion. Listening fired me up.
I'm telling everyone it's important they stop what they are doing and listen to the entire book NOW!

Really good

I listened to this book over the course of about a day. It was really well read - that's the advantage of the author reading it too you - but also well written, insightful and funny.

I can't speak for the efficacy of the advice, I haven't "taken action" yet. So that's the only problem - lots of little actions and tasks throughout the book, which are great, but I never get around to doing them when I listen to rather than read a book!

It's ok, has some good points

If your in a start up read it, if your running your business already put it to the back burn and read when you have time.

Over all it's a good business book but does go over a lot of the points that other business books do as, more for the start up side of business.

Practical, Realistic, Achievable

This is a very good book on business. There are so many other business books out there which all say the same thing. It was nice to read something new and refreshing for one. Thanks Michael. I won’t try to spell your surname :)
