Don't expect many direct investment ideas. This is more of an introduction to what opportunities exist in the commodity space. A worthwhile listen for anyone not familiar with commodity investing.

The commodity review was superficial. Similar information can be found on Wikipedia.
Although only 2-3 years old (this review is being written in December 2015), the book is already dated. For example, it speaks of the roaring Asian economy needing growing amounts of iron ore and other base materials to fuel its future growth needs.
I'll request a refund from Audible.
. . . . .especially about the future", as Yogi Berra wisely put it. And someone should have told Stephenson that before he filled this book with predictions about the decade 2010-2020 that have. . . .shall we say "not aged well".
There is a lot of interesting general information about commodity markets in this book for someone new to the subject if that's what you're looking for. But unfortunately all that information is structured around justifying his forecast for a huge commodities bull market and stagnant stocks, the opposite of what we've seen since publication. I suspect the fact that the author runs a commodities based fund is not a coincidence. . . . .
The narrator is not my cup of tea either. His voice is soporific and numbing IMHO.
