Publisher's summary

The best leaders aren't people.

Instead, innovative and emerging research shows that a compelling and other-centered authentic purpose - "The Invisible Leader" - may be the most powerful influencer of our behaviors, attitudes, and motivation in organizations, work, school, and life.

Yet despite the increasing evidence of purpose's power, many of the organizations, systems, and institutions which dominate human life aren't built to elicit and leverage the fundamental human search for purpose and meaning.

In The Invisible Leader, international speaker, trainer, and organizational performance scholar Zach Mercurio shows business leaders, educators, students, athletes, and parents how to discover, clarify, and deliver their reason for existence - their authentic purpose.

The Invisible Leader is a unique and compelling combination of practical tools, storytelling, research, and case studies which form the basis of a powerful new approach to leadership.

I cannot recommend this highly enough

This was not what I was expecting, I was expecting a fairly average 'how to be a leader' book, but this is so much more!

The advice in this book applies to everyone, from children to adults to retirees there is something in here for everyone, in fact, a lot in here for everyone.

Listening to this book is becoming part of my annual review process, where i consider what I achieved versus what I wanted to achieve and set goals and direction for the year to come. Re-clarifying my personal purpose each year will allow me to set goals more aligned with what I want my life to have meant when it's over, which is incredibly valuable.

Whether you feel you're on the right track or not, this book is well worth a listen (or ten).

The narration is spot on, I really enjoyed listening to it, I thought it was a great match for the content.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Overall good book for action

what I liked was clear action steps, to-do lists a.o. things that called to action. Very little examples in general, but they were referenced throughout the book via different angles thus making them more memorable.
Theories and research studies used were appropriate and in small volume allowing author to ground his thought.

Find happiness in your true daily purpose

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A few weeks ago our District had Zach Mercurio come speak with our department. He speaks good things with different veiw points even though its difficult for many to "drink the Koolaid" and get past their own mindset.

If I've learned anything about my new employment this past year it's to surround yourself by others who drink the same Koolaid and together find and together help each other push your daily purpose.

Your purpose is not the same as "what's the meaning of life", but "why do you wake up and do what you do". And what you do should not be the simple answer of "to collect a paycheck" because that paycheck will never be large enough for most of us to make you "happy" during your daily routine. If I've learned anything that will only bring you down further because your paycheck does not pay for what you spend most of your waking life doing, I will never be a race car driver or fabricator.

Purposeful Read on Being a Better Leader

Great new perspective on being a better leader. Really focused on finding your purpose and got me thinking on a deeper level. Really enjoyed some of the individual anecdotes provided by Zach in the book. Really brought the points and the story to life. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Just What I Needed

This book was just what I was looking for and I enjoyed listening to every moment of it. I feel as if I have found my "purpose", my "why" and it makes you look at the reason why you get up every morning and do what you do. I have also told several of my friends about this book too, feeling that this might also give some insight and meaning to them as well. If I recommend a book, then you know it is good :-)

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
