Publisher's summary

Forget everything you think you know about strength, strategy, and success. This brilliant adaptation of the ancient masterpiece The Art of War shows women how to use Sun Tzu's philosophy to win in every aspect of life.

Would you like to transform your weaknesses into strengths? Succeed at work without compromising your ethics? Integrate your style and personal philosophy into every action you take? If so, this audiobook is for you. Chin-Ning Chu brings the eternal wisdom of philosopher-general Sun Tzu to women looking to gain a better understanding of who they are and, more important, who they want to be.

In the West, when we think of war, we imagine battle, casualties, brutality. But Sun Tsu, who wrote The Art of War 2,500 years ago, was Chinese, and their view of war is not about fighting. It is about determining the most efficient way of gaining victory with the least amount of conflict. That's why his book is particularly appropriate for women, as most women are not comfortable with direct confrontation. Women are natural negotiators and problem solvers; most prefer win-win situations, rather than "winner takes all".

Sun Tzu's book is about the application of strategies, and every strategy requires us to understand the people around us, our own strengths and weaknesses, our goals and our fears. We must integrate ourselves and our unique talents into the strategies we employ in order to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of our goals and dreams.

The Art of War is the most influential book on strategy ever published, selling tens of millions of copies worldwide. Written by one of today's foremost authorities on Sun Tzu, The Art of War for Women is sure to become a classic in its own right.

Not for Women Only

Methodical and comprehensive approach to Sun Tzu's rules. She reviews each one, and provides substantive recommendations on how to apply them to everyday working life. Good rules that can apply to all -- not for women only.

Valuable lessons

I think that this book is probably brilliant, but I didn't take it all in the first time around. The narration is a little dry and feels like you might expect it to feel, given the title. However, if you can actively pay attention to the lessons presented, I think you will learn some valuable advice for approaching the workplace environment strategically and cunningly. I will definitely listen to this again!

A different take on feminine roles in business

This has a ethnocentric lens that helps recognize differences and strengths of American and Chinese culture that provides valuable insight but may not be appropriate in all work place environments. Good for rising business women looking to get an edge in new markets.

A Must Read By Chin-Ning Chu

I enjoyed hearing Chu's perspective on the Art of War for Women. She definitely brought alot of insight on being aware of ourselves and others i.e., in workplace, at home. I will re-listen to this book. I wanted to write her but she passed away a few years ago.
