Interesting

This book is a practical guide to cut through the appearances of niceness displayed at the office and get ready for the claws that hide beneath.
Follow the advice given by this author and save yourself a bunch of aggravation.
These are things you should know about office politics.

Like to thank the author

Office politics are a fact of life. It doesn't matter if you like them or not. It doesn't matter if you think politics are amoral or wrong. The simple fact is that office politics exist and they affect you. This book is a tightly written guide to understanding them and using them. As soon as I got into the book, a lot of things that had left me puzzled over the years became clear. And the landscape of politics, past and present, that previously seemed hidden came into plain view. One of the best things about the book is that it's not boring. Refreshingly blunt and full of practical information, the book is clearly and concisely recorded, and easily understood. It's interesting because it uses many great anecdotes and real life examples we can all relate to. I saw myself and some co-workers in many of the examples.

Silence of the Back Stabbing Lambs

Office politics are a fact of life. It doesn't matter if you like them or not. It doesn't matter if you think politics are amoral or wrong. It doesn't matter if you think things should be different. Similar to the way gravity is a fact of life, whether you like it or not or think it should be different. The simple fact is that office politics exist and they affect you.

Informative book for all

The author of this book did diligent research. The information within is useful and applicable to many different scenarios that someone may encounter in the work environment. I do listen a lot of audio books. Although the advise in this book is solid, in my opinion, the book needs an active table of contents as well as to be edited. In any case, the book is worth the little that it costs.

Best book

I’m looking for a book like this from many days. This is a short book but very helpful to gather knowledge about office politics. Office politics can be dangerous if we don't understand and deal this in a right way. Author has discussed trifles of office politics. Also has discussed how we can deal with this. This book will help to stay safe from the danger of office politics.

Office Politics

I thought the information in this book always shared by word of mouth and I will never have access if I am not friedly with a player. I could relate everything with an event or person at office. If you are wondering why you are treated in some way at office even you are the top performer... this is the book for you to start with.

And the landscape of politics, past and present, that previously seemed hidden came into plain view. The author is very adept at breaking everything down into easily understood concepts. I also like that the book has exercises to help you assess your political strengths and weaknesses and develop political skill in a variety of areas.

USEFUL GUIDE

I'm somebody that is still learning how to navigate an office environment. I don't like the idea of being in a clique, so I stay on my own grounds. This book was a great start to inquiring about others! This definitely quenched my curiosity!

great explanation

This is an excellent read especially for those who find themselves at large corporations. It takes a very practical and sensible approach to thriving in the corporate world and pointing out and remedying when necessary the many pitfalls and challenges that many of so naively walked into - well, it's not like you can take a college course on office politics.I was recommended this book by a successful working professional. I found that this book is very straighforward and honest in discussing the personalities, power, and dynamics of work environments.
