Excellent Summary of Lean Concepts

Any additional comments?

This is an excellent summary of the Lean and Six Sigma (LSS) concepts. For those who are new to these ideas, it should give you a basic idea of the methodology involved.

It will not give you the knowledge to go out and immediately implement the LSS ideas. I don't know if any book would do that. But it will at least better familiarize you with what sort of things are focused on, as well as the terminology and framework behind LSS.

There is some repetition of key-points. Some people might not like that. But, if you're driving in your car and can't give the audio-book your full attention, it's nice, particularly when you think to yourself, "What did the author just say?" (and prepare to rewind). Or maybe that just happens to me? Also, I think that by repeating some key information, it helps with the memorization of these concepts.

In any case, you won't be a LSS Blackbelt when you're done listening to this audio-book. But this audio-book will certainly help you as you begin your journey into the concepts of continuous improvement, which starts with you and, ideally, results in significant improvements in the work place.

Good Beginners guide

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

If you are a beginner to Lean, this would be a good place to start for minimal cost. It is repetative in places, but might help in comprehension


What does Lucy Vest bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

being able to listen to the book while completing other tasks make this a multi tasker's dream.


What did you take away from Lean Six Sigma and Lean QuickStart Guides that you can apply to your work?

As a lean practitioner, i personally did not learn anything new in this book, however, for the student or newcomer to lean methodologies, they would get an overall understanding of my lean is so important
