An Audio PowerPoint

According to the summary, you will "Learn the leadership skills to build a better, more profitable business."

This book has precious little skill-building. It is more like an audio PowerPoint presentation: a series of bullet points presented with little explanation of how to integrate them into leadership behaviors. The bullet points may have been useful in a printed book, as one could then take time to meditate upon a few at a time. As an audiobook it doesn't work.

On top of that the audio quality is very poor, making the book more annoying than useful.

Beautyfull insights on leadership

I must have listened to this book at least 10 times. Max DePree shows some beautyfull insights on the subject of leadership. He states in the beginning of the book that " this book is not a how to book, but more a why to book ". I higly recommend this book :-)

Inspirational

An extremely inspirational piece of literature that defines the reality of leadership. Not a how-to book; much more open ended. This book paints with words a reality that takes years and years to grasp. It is an open door to a landscape to explore and discover. Highly recommended.

All about socialist thinking

Starts quite well and all sounds reasonable enough. largest collection of socialist/ Marxist ideas I have found in under 2 hours. Waiting to join a circle by the fire singing com-bia.

I can't believe I'm just now finding this book

What a fantastic read. i can't wait to share it with my leadership team. So many things that Max articulated that I have never been able to describe and I am thankful. Short but thoughtful, well planned and executed.

The Almost Bible of Corporate Leadership

I have a problem with someone placing a book at the level of the Bible but came close. Short, to the point, well thought out, makes sense and can be applied.

Meh

Pretty basic. There were a few take home points here but not many. May be a good book for a beginner but not what I expected from it.

Dated Leadership book

The book is quite dated, although basics of leadership can be timeless at times. However it is very focused on the author’s company that he worked for, for 40 years, that his Dad started in 1905. So it’s leadership advice from someone who worked in a family business and most of the stories and people he refers to, took place in the 1940’s-1950’s.
