A great read for any leader who wants to grow

Deep change, is a book on why we need deep change in our lives and business. Without routinely doing a deep change we risk, as Robert Quinn puts it, slow death. Slow death is peace and pay, meaning don’t rock the boat and you get paid. I myself have been part of companies that think this way and it destroys one from the inside. Slow death kills businesses and churches when no one wants to change the way things are done.
Deep change ask one to review oneself and to see what’s not working. It requires risk to accomplish. I am sure Microsoft didn’t start because Bill Gates played it safe. It requires one to work with others in the company to accomplish goals. Deep change is about being aware of oneself and be willing to change as other things change.
What I have taken from this book, is I need to be more aware of all my actions. I need to question why I do one thing and not the other. As a pastor it shows me how I need to be willing to change as the culture around me changes, without compromising my faith or who I am. This is a book I recommend, and a book I will read again.

Would not purchase again

I was looking forward to listening to this book but by the end of the first hour I couldn't count the number of times that the author used the phrase deep change. It felt like he couldn't articulate what the goal was without using the words deep change and in some ways sounded like he was talking around in circles.

The narrator was not engaging and it could almost put me to sleep. I would not recommend this book.
