Publisher's Summary

Consciousness, teaches Fred Kofman, is the capacity to observe, choose, and act in accord with your values. And "conscious business" means using that ability at every level of your work: in being aware of the needs of others and expressing your own; in seeing the hidden emotional obstacles that may be holding your team back; in making good decisions under pressure; and even in delving into such "spiritual" questions as "Who am I?" and "What is my real purpose here?" In Conscious Business, you'll join this visionary teacher and founder of Leading Learning Communities to master these skills.

Personal Skills & Business Contribution

Conscious Business is more a series of seminars which are spoken by the author Fred Kaufman in a warm soothing tone. I work in IT for HP as a full time consultant to Cisco Systems. It may simply be the time in my life, or the business environment in which I find myself, but I found Fred's perspective remarkably moving and enlightening. Fred does a excellent job of identifying the personal skills required to work effectly in a business setting and goes on to provide a wealth of suggestions on how to develop those skills. Throughout the book he does a good job of keeping the lines of personal development and business contribution parallel, however, if I were to offer one reservation, I think he could have drove that relationship home more as he concluded the series. This is certainly the best business management book I have encountered, and I have read quite a few lately.

Highly Recommended

This is the best book I've heard yet from Fred Kofman is an entertaining and educational speaker who doesn't seem to be reading. He uses memorable, often funny examples to illustrate his ideas. I have heard or read variations on some of his concepts in other books, but every idea is good and true. Fred Kofman is incredibly smart and also has a lot of common sense and humility.
