Publisher's Summary

Business Sutra: A Very Indian Approach to Management, introduces listeners to the Indian way of management, which is very different from the commonly followed Western methods.
Modern management, which is taught in business schools all across the globe, is rigidly goal-oriented, and lays extreme importance on increasing shareholder value. Ancient India was famous for its trade and commerce, thus management has long been a part and parcel of this country's tradition.

A must listen audiobook

The book is one of an exceptional one, coming from a background listening to the same stories since a young age, the words were familiar to me.

The book opens a a subjective way of thinking and more on the concept of respect to every individual and their beliefs.

Fantastic!

Devdutt is the new Brihaspati. The lucidity, the clarity, the directness is so refreshing and gratifying. It feels like drinking cool water after wandering in the sun for too late long. The brain fodder is delightful and tasty.
If you aren’t reading this book you maybe missing out on a clearer understanding of Indian Philosophy.

Great book with profound spiritual lessons of life

Being a professional who has worked globally I bought this book with a sense of curiousity. I was pleasantly surpirsed although not necessarily from its management lessons but from some profound subjects it touches that are relevant to personal life. Each chapter picks a profound topic (e.g, concept of property ownership among humans and animals, or how in modern world identity is falsely defined by what we own rather than what we are), talks about the role or meaning of the topic in personal and spiritual evolution, and then through a story or two (mostly Indian mythology) draws upon management lessons related to the topic.

All in all a very deep and thought provoking book on life in general and recommended for anyone who has general inclination towards personal growth, philosphy, human evolution and spirituality. Removed one star due to limited learning on management side (as suggested by topic), but that could be different for someone lesser experienced in corporate world.

The speaker is easy to listen and quality of narration goes well with the subject being covered. Will definitely go for more books by the author.
