Publisher's Summary

So you have an idea for a startup, an idea that could potentially be worth millions, even billions! Maybe it's for a software program, a multiplatform app, perhaps a new niche retail store. This idea could change your life, and even more, it can change the world! So, now what? How do you turn that idea into a real-life thriving business? How do you take some chicken scratch on a napkin and turn it into a dollar symbol? Do you need to have your MBA, a CEO as your mentor, or $200 million in seed money? No! What you need is far more simple, and it can be created in as little as three hours!
What you need is a business plan. As simple as it sounds, a business plan is a plan for your business. Think of it as the blueprint for a house. It will show you how to go from start to finish while showing you all of the pieces you will need along the way. A business plan will take an idea or concept for a business and can turn into a reality within as little as 3 hours.
In order to create a successful, sustainable business, you need a defined and developed strategy for acquisition of funds, market analysis, advertising, structure, and scaling as well as several other elements. Your initial creation will by no means be a final copy; however, it will serve as a point to build from that will expand in line with the growth and vision of your business.

Nothing New Here, Sounds Like it Would Take Longer

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I think everything in it shows exactly how a business plan should be written, but I don't think it would take under 3 hours to do so. It had a couple of blimps, skips, and static.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Everything was interesting and well thought out, but it isn't anything new, and like I said I believe it would take well over 3 hours to write the business plan this way . I didn't find anything uninteresting about it.

What about Amy Barron Smolinski’s performance did you like?

I liked the voice and tone. Very professionally done.

Was Business Plan Writing Guide: How to Write a Successful & Sustainable Business Plan in Under 3 Hours worth the listening time?

If I were a person who never ever wrote or read about writing a business plan, I would have definitely given it 5 stars.

Very comprehensive!

If you’ve ever wanted to write a business plan, this is the audiobook that will assist you. In a little under one and a half hours, you’ll learn how to write a business plan. This book recognizes the inevitable difficulties surrounding starting a business and so it first begins with the fundamentals on WHY and WHEN the business plan is needed, and WHAT information is needed.

Then each chapter thoroughly covers all the necessary areas of a business plan like: executive summary and company description, market analysis and organization, and funding and financial projections. The division of content in each chapter takes away the stress of not knowing which direction to take. You just have to follow the chapters. For such a short audiobook, this covers great in-depth information, which – I cannot stress enough -- is easy to follow. Amy Barron Smolinski is also a really great narrator.

This is a comprehensive guide that any business owner will want to grab up and learn from. Recommended!
