Publisher's summary

It is well documented that working hard isn't enough to keep your professional star rising: Self-promotion is recognized as one of the most important attributes for getting ahead. But learning to share your talents and successes without coming across as smug or rehearsed is a tricky skill. Now, Peggy Klaus, top communication and leadership coach, has developed a program that will teach anyone to brag - and get away with it. Filled with practical examples of ways in which people in various work-life stages can promote themselves, Klaus teaches readers to communicate strengths and accomplishments without appearing too opportunistic, eager, egotistical, or self-aggrandizing. Now, anyone can communicate with style and substance - in any situation - and walk away shining like the star they are.

Short but some insight

Short but informative. The anecdotes
and examples were a bit simplistic.
I did however pick up a few ideas.

Brag much?

While a large amount of the book is career focused, there's something for entrepreneurs as well!! You can apply her method in every aspect of your life. I love it!

Very Interesting Book

This book was straight forward. Many things in the book you dont realize you are guilty of until you read the book. I found the book very engaging and made me want to listen more. Struggling with confidence at the work place this book has offered great pointers! I feel that I am able to take quite a few of pointers in the book to build the confidence I have been lacking.

Gold nuggets

A coworker recommended this book to me and I'm glad she did. I could relate to certain sections more than others but definitely found some gold nuggets of advice.

Easy to follow and apply

Peggy has given me the most comprehensive, straight to the point, yet ellaborate recipe for tooting my own horn the right way. Book is not only written in very easy to follow style but also Peggy's own voice makes the book come to life. I no longer listened to the book, but series of stories. Excellent and highly recommended read!

Great perspective, could use more specifics

Entertaining, clear and insightful. When I finished, I was inspired, but at a bit of a loss on how to proceed. It would help to have templates, formulas, or some other guidelines on how to write the brag bites, brag-a-logues, and other elements of the brag book.

makes you better at self promoting

I picked up this book because someone recommended it as a self development tool. it is geared towards the person who has no skills to promote themselves outwardly. I actually am very vocal in self promotion, but I still found it a very good read. I found a few pearls of wisdom that will help me polish my tooting of my own horn without blowing it!

Toot Your Horn w/o Killing your Audience

The author gave great tips and strategies in talking about the BIG YOU, selling your good points, without sounding like a bagger. She also discussed the importance of connecting with the person in front of you before speaking of yourself. loved her style and the animated characters.
