Wish I had it when I was in the thick of things!

I find audiobooks the best way to enjoy a classic like A Life at Work because of my increasingly age-and-computer-dimmed eyesight. I wish that I had had this book when I was in the thick of things--I think it might have helped, if I could have relaxed enough to take it all in! Even now, it makes me think about the work and career choices I made and how they might have been different. The pressure of the need for money and pressures from society and family make it difficult for many people to choose work that is good for them. I didn't know myself very well at all when I was young, and I don't now, so this is a book that provokes thought and self-examination. I am still going through it, but I wanted to say something about my impressions midway through it. This book is a marker on my journey of self-exploration and I am glad I bought it and hope it will help you think a bit more about who you are, which is really a life-long process of investigation...

Good book that leads to views never contemplated.

Very well thought out from many different views. Although it may not help find your dream job it may help with looking for your purpose in life that could lead you in the right direction.

I enjoyed this book. It helped me at a time of confusion in life. Made really great points on what I should decide to do with my life.

Very timely

As I listened to this insightful book, I could sense and feel my own life’s workings become more understandable; the various inquiries, experiences, hardships, paths taken and not taken began to weave themselves into a life-art tapestry that was not visible before. The confirmation is now a useable piece to follow down a path of my own making.

A good book

As a woman in my early 50s, I have had a variety of jobs. I currently work as a hospice nurse ... so it is meaningful work, but I love the perspective this book brings to ‘life work’.

This is a nice book. It provides positive and affirming ideas. It is one of those books that could be important to a person because it says the right thing at the right time for them.
