Publisher's summary

Osho is known around the world for his pioneering contribution to meditation - the science of inner transformation - with the unique approach of his "Osho Active Meditations" acknowledging the accelerated pace of the contemporary world and bringing meditation into modern life.

Based on the Seven Points of Mind Training by the 11th-century Buddhist mystic Atisha, The Book of Wisdom removes the dust of tradition that has gathered around meditation, conveying the essential science and methodology of the practice with a freshness and spontaneity that is rarely found in contemporary spiritual works. The book is a guide for inner discipline and transformation that is also highly accessible, incorporating light, often humorous question-and-answer sessions between the author and his audience that help listeners make the practical connection between spiritual theory and meditation as a lifestyle.

In 28 talks alternating between commentaries on Atisha and responding to questions, Osho takes us into a world of wisdom.

An Osho classic.

Covers a full range of practical wisdom. And the jokes are great too. Well worth the price.

More Than a Talk

In these 28 talks, given to an audience of sannyasins and seekers during his Poona One days, Osho does what he does best: sell enlightenment. With a combination of commentary on Atisha's Seven Points of Mind Training as well as Q&A sessions from his sannyasins, Osho not only brings Atisha's wisdom to life but also infuses it with his own tremendous clarity in classic Osho-fashion.

Osho's vision is all-encompassing. He embraces all of the Masters and Mystics from the past in an effort to cast a wide net to pull his audience in. He is no different with Atisha. After illuminating sutras from Atisha, Osho then deconstructs questions from his listeners in a systematic logical fashion with a touch of poetry as well. This style is pure genius and mystic insight interwoven in one.

On a deeper level, Osho is performing spiritual alchemy on his listeners. He speaks so the listener can become quiet. For those who are sensitive enough, there is an energy-transmission taking place. Osho's words come from a deep place of silence within his own Being and this silence can be transformative. In truth, these talks are more of a Satsang (being with truth). Osho takes the listener on a pilgrimage - from mind to no-mind, from ego to Being. Not only are these talks engaging for the mind, but they keep the listener in tune for long enough to become attuned to the silence of the Master - the silence of Atisha, the silence of Osho, the same eternal silence of all those who have ever known. This is the true function of a Buddha.

Only if you have lots of worthless time

A ton of contradictions. Takes 10 minutes of repeating things to get a point across. Sorry, but no more OSHO for me. This was my first try given the other good reviews.

Now, even when I die, I'll have no regret

Osho at his best given discourses about Buddhism based on Atisha's sutras.

His interpretation is very inspiring and helpful for inner transformation.

I'm in love with OSHO.

I take what I need and leave the rest, but most of it is a precious gem. I'm so grateful for his message and gift to my enlightenment.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. One of his best works out of the many that I have listened to. Hundreds of times during the audiobook, I thought the sharpness of perception was pure genius and definitely a very impactful work
