Publisher's Summary

You'll Grow Out of It hilariously and candidly explores the journey of the 21st-century woman.
As both a tomboy and a late bloomer, comedian Jessi Klein grew up feeling more like an outsider than a participant in the rites of modern femininity.
In You'll Grow Out of It, Klein offers - through an incisive collection of real-life stories - a relentlessly funny yet poignant take on a variety of topics she has experienced along her strange journey to womanhood and beyond. These include her "transformation from Pippi Longstocking-esque tomboy to are-you-a-lesbian-or-what tom man", attempting to find watchable porn, and identifying the difference between being called "ma'am" and "miss" ("miss sounds like you weigh 99 pounds").
Raw, relatable, and consistently hilarious, You'll Grow Out of It is a one-of-a-kind book by a singular and irresistible comic voice.

I like this woman so much!

What did you love best about You'll Grow Out of It?

Her honesty.

What did you like best about this story?

She didn't omit anything that I would have been curious about if she hadn't included it! She bravely went all the way there.

Which scene was your favorite?

I suppose I'd have to choose The Cad chapter; the condom incident as related to Terry Gross was my introduction to Jessi and her book. I loved working through her process of learning that she is a true comedian. Jesters and music keep us sane.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

She Didn't Grow Out of It (and I'm glad).

Any additional comments?

As a 72-year old woman, I felt especially privileged to be part of Jessi's audience.

Everything you are thinking said out loud!!!

Love this book! She takes the words out of my mouth and finally, I feel like my thoughts are NORMAL(?) I am not alone in my head!!! Reminiscent of Nora Ephron!

Well written, entertaining, easy listen although disappointingly plays heavily into clichéd female themes and insecurities.
