What a pity
I really enjoyed the story, similar to Driving over Lemons, and a Year in Provence, and am tempted to try his other books but ALAS the audio quality of this one is poor and Mr Bryce does not do justice to the story. He is clearly "reading" and the performance lacks flow. I like the way he portrays the characters and there, there is no problem, but when reading the narrative
and reaching the end of a line
he goes on to the next
instead of giving the narrative a natural flow as most narrators do so that it sounds as if the story is being told and not
read.
Maybe if someone else did the narration it would be better, but for now I think I will try buying one of his books and reading it myself.

Amusing tale, poor sound quality
This is "A Year in Provence" set in Majorca, Spain. I enjoy stories that share cultural insights and perspectives from different points of view and there is plenty of that in this with a Scottish family purchasing an run-down farm house complete with orange grove on Majorca. An amusing tale though the audio quality on this was the worst I've ever experienced on Audible.
