Publisher's Summary

Jake Sasseville may be the most famous guy you've never heard of.
Slightly Famous charts Jake's improbable rise to (slight) fame. At 21, he broke into Hollywood as the youngest host ever on late-night broadcast TV when his show The Edge launched after Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC affiliates. Months later, it crashed, burned, and Jake lost it all.
Experience success from the inside of failure, as Jake shares his ridiculous tactics to win million-dollar deals, find out why Chelsea Handler hates his guts, why he wears pajamas to business meetings and how he turned his business (and his life) around after becoming a "has been" at age 22.
In this deliciously absurd collection that is as hilarious as it is raw, Jake brings you inside the life of a Hollywood outsider. When he launches high-profile PR stunts, he enlists his famous friends like Rainn Wilson (The Office) to help. When his business nearly goes bankrupt, a chance meeting with a billionaire in London leads to $100,000 and a flight to a private island compound.
Whether he's negotiating with AirTran Airways to give him an unlimited supply of first-class airline tickets or convincing the CEO of a hotel empire in San Francisco to give him a penthouse suite for a year, Jake's colorful life makes way for pearls of wisdom on life, business, and spirituality.

Jake takes me to a Parallel Universe for 6 hours

Where does Slightly Famous rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is the indisputable number 1. I have been a good listener of Audible for many years but this book is remarkably unique and transformational.

What did you like best about this story?

It makes you travel to a different Universe, it makes you dream, it teaches you a lot , it inspires you, it makes you reflect about your own life, ... and his voice and the way he tells the story is just astounding.... There is a lot to learn for all the generations, I would say it is a must read for the younger ones that seem to be , sometimes, so lost. - Jake should be putting his voice and his passion on helping the kids in need all over the world - . The rhythm is breathtaking, and the story never stops to surprise you. It is so powerfully read. This audio-book is the perfect combination of an incredible story and a perfectly paced persuasive and compelling voice. I wish we all had his attitude towards our life's challenges and we were able to place our thoughts in the same place that he does.

Which character – as performed by Jake Sasseville – was your favorite?

That would be obviously himself, the same Jake.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not want to , but I did. It dragged me as the most powerful vacuum pump that you can conceive. Therefore the answer is yes. I started to listen to it and suddenly I realized that it was 3:20 AM. I think that I completely lost my awareness of time while listening to Jake's adventures. This book will take your mind to unexplored territories.

Any additional comments?

This book is an unforgettable experience. You will never forget nor the story nor Jake after you read it. It will candidly and humbly teach you a lot of things. This book is the master that needed to appear in my life when I was ready to listen to him.
