I saw the movie, and decided to purchase the book. I saw the reviews and thought surely the narrator couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. So hard to appreciate the courageous story of this American hero because if the painful reading.

It is a good thing the story is compelling and attention grabbing. If it were otherwise I would have bailed after listening to this narrator. It was like listening to a male version of Siri. He can read the words, but often puts the emphasis on the wrong syllable. If I have to hear him say the word “again” again I may have to not finish the last hour of the book.

Where does Redemption at Hacksaw Ridge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Excellent . An amazing story of human endeavour . You will listen again and be even more amazed at this mans feats of courage.<br/>
What other book might you compare Redemption at Hacksaw Ridge to, and why?
Have you listened to any of Chris George’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Any additional comments?

Stilted performance and a little too much Christian propaganda for me. Was relieved when I finally got to the end.
Outstanding. One of the most amazing stories of courage. Not focused on the violence like the movie, but rather Desmond's walk with God. A must read for any Christian. Kid friendly also.
Chris George is definitely a skilled narrator, one of the best I've listened to on audible. However, I so wish he could slow down a bit! 1x speed is too fast yet 0.75x is too slow. :(
