Publisher's Summary

The 20th century marked an era of unprecedented progress, growth, and ingenuity. In this entertaining and intriguing collection of profiles, you'll meet 36 of the groundbreaking entrepreneurs who fueled this explosion of achievement and shaped our modern world. Radicals & Visionaries reveals the complete stories of both the legendary masters of enterprise and the unsung entrepreneurial heroes. You'll discover little-known facts and learn secrets about:
A.P. Giannini, the greengrocer with no financial experience who took on "the suits" and founded the world's largest bank.

Ron Popeil, the part-time carnival huckster whose late-night TV commercials for kitchen gadgets kicked off the infomercial phenomenon.

Former cabaret singer Coco Chanel, who thumbed her nose at the suffocating styles of the 19th century and sparked a fashion revolution that still influences designers today.
From the turn-of-the-century capitalists who ushered in the industrial age to the mass-market moguls who molded pop culture, Radicals & Visionaries is a lively, revealing, and often astonishing chronicle of the lives and accomplishments of the most influential entrepreneurs of the past 100 years.

Lot less exiting than the title

Radicals and Visionaries sounds exiting but unfortunately this is just 8 to 10 minute profiles of important businesspeople. The profiles is only scraching the surface and the book quickly becomes boring to listen to. I listened to the first 2 or 3 profiles and then deleted the book from my Ipod. Hear the sample before you buy.

Don't bother....

There is nothing in this title worth spending any money on. Motivational stories like these can be found in everyday publications like Reader's Digest. The narrator drones on and all you really hear is blah blah blah blah blah. "And that's the story behind blah blah blah". This title was not only a waste of money/credits... but a waste of time. Unless of course you didn't know that Mary Kay Cosmetics was run by a very determined and self motivated woman. If that is the sort of material that you find "enlightening" then go for it. Otherwise...go take a nap and save your credit.
