Publisher's Summary

Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions is Gloria Steinem's most diverse and timeless collection of essays. Since its publication in 1983 - a phenomenal success that sold nearly half a million copies-male and female readers alike have acclaimed it as a witty, warn, and life-changing view of the world "as if women mattered." Steinem's most personal writing is here, from the humorous expose "I Was a Playboy Bunny" to prescient essays on female genital mutilation and the difference between erotica and pornography. The satirical and hilarious "If Men Could Menstruate" is alone worth the price of admission. "...the definitive philosophical and historical work about this movement that, belatedly, has transformed society."

Playboy Feminist of the Year

Listened to this after enjoying Steinem's memoir. This is a collection of essays from the author's early years. So the tone and style are different.

Get this for Steinem's undercover reporting of life as a Playboy bunny, humorous and disturbing.

Love this book. They need an unabridged version!

Would you listen to Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions again? Why?

I would absolutely listen to this audiobook again! In fact, I really think they should create an unabridged version. The version I listened to was abridged. Gloria Steinam does a great job choosing the short stories to narrate and she seamless reads them (and you can't tell that she removed sections). But, I would love love love to listen to an unabridged version. Needs more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions?

They couldn't have picked a better narrator. I am thrilled that Gloria Steinam narrated her book!

Any additional comments?

Need an unabridged version, please.
