Everyone needs to listen to this
Im so glad i listened to this. I am a white, heterosexual, married, middle class women w a daughter and grandson. In other words im what society accepts as "normal". It is people like me that need to hear Parker pain, empathize, not only support but take action. By speaking to friends, family, co wker and, acquaintances about the plight of a transgender individual.
Thank you Parker, by reading your story it gives me a chance to become a better person.
*please write a part 2, to keep your readers up to date.
I will pray for u sweetheart. Marylue McGraw-Wiesen

Interesting little story, but lacks some depth
I liked it, but didn’t really leave me feeling at all like I fully understood this person. It quickly brushed over subjects and experiences, while leaving out all of the important details about what she fully experienced during these times. It basically just mentioned what happened and a couple on-the-surface emotions like “it made me sad”. It felt like this is how the story was written, “people don’t understand me and that makes it difficult.” Where’s the grit and highly descriptive emotions? I feel like she forgot that this is supposed to be for non-trans to help them understand trans better. Otherwise, why would I read it if I already knew what she was talking about? What new information would I gain from it? It felt more like a really long article vs an attempt to help people understand the full depth of what every single part of Trans have to go through. I want to know every single emotion, conversation that was made in detail between people during her life, how it affected her deeply, what she did to rectify that, and on and on. It was just very simple and shallow feeling. I still have yet to find a good trans book to help me fully understand this stuff

Wonderful if Brief
Very emotive, deeply personal, and while it is short to short (more of an essay in story form than anything else) I would argue this suits the content. Its not very thorough though, and focuses largely on Parker's relationships.
As someone currently undergoing a very simmilar transiton - from masculinity into womanhood, hearing this perspective from the author herself is very comforting. It's nice to know someone has been through it all and is still fighting, it makes one feel less alone in the world.
I would advise this to anyone interested in the topic; its short and an intersting window into a troubled life. It won't drench you in anything biological, densly philosophical, or artistically pretentious, but it will give you one perspective, if nothing else, feels honest.
