Would you try another book from Celia Marie and/or Ashley Luckett?
What was most disappointing about Celia Marie’s story?
As a fellow sufferer of Grave's disease I cannot understand her ignoring problems for so long and then her reliance on religion. She seemed to have a complete lack of curiosity about the cause of the disease and what she could do to fix it. No thought whatever to changing her diet, lifestyle, etc. She did not show much curiosity about the processes in her own body and what she could do about it. No wonder she was so afraid. Knowledge is power and she did not seem to seek any knowledge. Maybe that wasn't the focus of her book. If so, I thought it was very incomplete. She was a college graduate and didn't even seek out one book on the subject.
What three words best describe Ashley Luckett’s voice?
Southern, high, smooth
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. She did not even tell us how the surgery went and if it helped. This would be nice to know for those of us who also have Graves disease. There was no suggestion of what to do or hope for other Graves sufferers.
Any additional comments?
I wish the religious aspect of the book were in the review. I would not have bought it if I realized this. Religion might help you out emotionally, relieving some stress, but healing takes more that that.
